I went to Posada Amazonas with little expectation but was blown away by the beauty of the grounds, the care of the people that work there, and the amazing guide who showed me the rainforest. It's not the deepest in the jungle so you do miss a lot of the animals but if you want to only travel a couple hours in, this is the place.

The trip from the airport to the Posada Amazonas was an adventure in itself. We only had two nights stay which was not enough. The food and accomodation were excellent , loved listening to the noise of the jungle at night, the walks , the boat rides , the wildlife and our guides were full of knowledge and personality. Definitely such a trip should be on everyones bucket list.

We stayed at Posada Amazonas in February. Despite arriving to torrential downpours, we enjoyed ourselves very much. The accomodation is very unique. No electricity...candle light only. Interesting to lay in bed and listen to the jungle come alive in the night. Food was abundant (just don't leave anything out!) and the lounge/bar was well stocked. Trekking through rivers of water and mud made for some eventful hikes. The canopy climb is amazing....the jungle seems to go on forever. Fishing for piranha was a real hoot! We would love to go back again...only next time, not during the rainy season!

My family spent 4 days and 3 nights here. The food and service was great and the location not too demanding to get to. We especially loved our guide, Fino. He shared his great knowledge and love for the animals and birds of the jungle. His tours were wonderful and he was generous with his patience and his time. We especially liked the sunrise visit to the tower listening to the howler monkeys, the night walk, huge kapok tree and just watching my kids fall love with the jungle.

Room Tip: Ask for Fino for a guide if you love birding.

My stay at Posada Amazonas far exceeded my expectations!!

2 of us stayed at Posada Amazonas fo the 4day/3night trip. And I am certainly glad we got 2 full days in the jungle.

Everything about the trip was superb, from the pick-up at the airport, to the transfer to the lodge, and then the transfer back to the airport (with them printing out our boarding passes)

The lodge is very enjoyable...the rooms where wonderful. Being open to the jungle was certainly a great experience (even if it meant I had trouble sleeping one night thinking about the things just a few feet away - it really added to the experience).

The food at the lodge was great, and having a bar there meant that other people at the lodge congregated at certain times, and we where able to share stories.

To top it all off, we had the best guide. Aldo!!! Aldo rocks. He definitely made the trip. He was able to spot and point out many things in the forest that would easily be missed. His knowledge and passion for the forest was certainly appreciated.

I really can't speak highly enough of the experience. if you are looking for a good experience with some level of comfort while in the jungle...this place is for you...it was for me!!!

Room Tip: As of May 2011, some rooms had hot showers

We stayed at this eco lodge with about 25 college age people for 3 nights. It was jam packed with adventure, and although we are much older than they were, we enjoyed every minute. Our normal trips tend to be in 5 star hotels, but this was so different that we thought we'd give it a try and we weren't disappointed. There was a lot of hiking- both in daylight and during the night with flashlights, although nothing too strenuous. They provided rubber boots due to the mud everywhere, but we still could wear flip flops/sandals inside the lodge. We took a trip to see parrots at the salt lick, tried piranha fishing, met a medicine man, and saw lots of animals/birds/bugs in the jungle in spite of the daily rain.

The food was good, and if you have diet restrictions like we did (no pork), they were happy to prepare something else.

There is a donation box for used clothing in the lodge. If there's anything you want to bring to donate, keep this in mind. They can use all types of warm weather clothing (kids-adults). Remember that most of them are shorter height. You should also bring cash for a tip at the end to show your satisfaction.

There is a small store where you can buy bug spray and flashlights (a must!).
