Our guide Oscar was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! Resort was beautiful. The night hike was a highlight of my time in Peru.

What an amazing place. Posada Amazonas is a once-in-a-lifetime true highlight. I loved everything about this lodge. Your guide meets you at the airport, and then he or she is with you throughout the experience - ensuring your trip is great. Our guide - Silverio - was shockingly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. He answered every question, ranging from the customs of the native community of Infierno (of which many of the guides and employees are members), to plants, animals, animal behavior, weather, stars, and so on. From seeing the Giant River Otters at dawn, to catching piranas, to the sound of howler monkeys over our heads in the dark, to experiencing sunrise from the canopy tower, to wonderful meals with Silverio and my friends around the table - my trip to Posada was one of the best trips ever. I would go back in a second.

One word-to-the-wise: make sure everyone in your group is prepared and understands "what they are getting themselves into." Bring mosquito repellant and long-sleeved, light-colored hiking shirts; bring a flashlight; be prepared to get a little muddy. This is the RAINforest after all! As long as you don't expect room-service and the Four Seasons, but you're looking for a fantastic, comfortable, up-close-and-personal introduction to the rainforest, you'll have the time of your life.

My friend and I embarked on the adventure of a lifetime to South America. Our itinerary took in Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Mexico and the US. It had always been a dream to visit the Amazon Jungle. Words cannot describe the wonderful feeling that you experience living in the rainforest. Laying in a hammock, watching the monkeys playing in the trees above from your bedroom ... will stay with me forever. Sleeping at night with the room open to the jungle was simply magic. The sounds of the animals and insects was surreal (beneath the fitted mosquito net). Our guide (Willian) was fantastic, as were all the staff at Posada ... I cannot recommend this adventure high enough! If you want 5 star hotels ... this is not the place for you, but if you want to be one with nature for a few days, it's amazing!

A friend and I took a 3 day stop at Posada and loved every minute of it, the lodge was comfortable and the feeling I got from being in the jungle was amazing. Our guide Willian was confident, informative and funny as he took us around the area showing us the beautiful flora and fauna.

Have recently recommended this place to a friend and I may even come back with them in 2014!

Posada Amazonas provided an incredible opportunity to stay in the rainforest in simple luxury. The food was fantastic, the guides knowledgeable and welcoming, and the accommodations very comfortable. Every meal had lots of variety and the kitchen was very flexible with providing vegetarian options. The guides definitely enriched the entire experience and were a highlight of the trip. The open air accommodations make one feel a part of the forest without dealing with the unpleasantries of actually sleeping IN the forest. I appreciate that the lodge is partly owned and operated by the local community and that many of the staff have lived in this part of the world for generations. Overall our stay made one excited to see som much wildlife as well as feel good about contributing to local conservation efforts.

If you're looking for a rustic, adventerous and exciting nature experience, this is the place for you. Great lodge, it's basic, but don't forget that you're in the middle of the jungle! You have a great bed, nice bathroom and a setting fit for the Amazon. We especially enjoyed the open wall direct into the jungle, and spent many hours just listening to the animal sounds of the jungle. The guides (Ivan) we had where great, and the staff did a good job. Good food and good drinks. We also enjoyed the tours and excursions we experienced. We can really recommend this lodge!

I went to Posada Amazonas with little expectation but was blown away by the beauty of the grounds, the care of the people that work there, and the amazing guide who showed me the rainforest. It's not the deepest in the jungle so you do miss a lot of the animals but if you want to only travel a couple hours in, this is the place.
