We stayed with Andy and Richard back in April 2015 and had a magnificent weeks holiday. There was no other option in our mind of where to stay this time for a 2 week break. Sadly the team is now down to one, however Andy is still running a very clean and efficient holiday let. Andy is a wealth of knowledge of the area and had some terrific ideas of things to do. The location among the vineyards is as peaceful as you could get and there is now a restaurant in Puisseguin that is within walking distance. Each unit is well decked out and despite having 3 units, you rarely see anyone. The weather was extremely kind to us and for a couple of Queenslanders we even used the pool this time. Without hesitation we would recommend this place if you are looking to stay in the St Emilion area. A car is needed of course.
We have just spent a very enjoyable week in this delightful accommodation, which is very tastefully appointed and well equipped. The quiet setting, surrounded by vineyards, provides a restful place to relax and the pool is a great to cool off in after a day exploring all that this great location has to offer.
Andy is a most congenial host with a wealth of local knowledge. He is easily contacted if needed, but never intrusive. The delicious meal he provided on arrival was most welcome after a long drive.
We highly recommend Rose Cottage, which will add that ‘something special’ to your holiday.
We don't hesitate to recommend this property. Nice clean and well equipped gite in a really lovely, quiet location among the vines. Great pool area to lie around and relax.
The owner, Andy, was very helpful and a mine of local knowledge. Andy is always on hand if you need him. We had a minor issue with our shower draining and it was resolved immediately that we made him aware.
The meal that is prepared and left in the fridge on day of arrival is very welcome, especially so if you've driven down. Andy also popped in at various points with cakes, which was a nice touch.
We have spent a great week here, enjoying the countryside, restaurants and wines. The location is very quiet, set among the vineyards of Puisseguin. Andy is a great host, and even had a meal ready for us on our first night. We have already recommended this property to friends.
A great deal of thought went into the presentation of the cottage. Andy could not be more welcoming and a mine of information. Before we even arrived I felt I knew him through his regular texts informing us of the route, weather forecast and wine trip. The evening meal on our arrival, which Richard had prepared, was very welcoming and delicious. So was the soup and the cup cakes that arrived on our doorstep over the next few days!! The cottage was extremely well equipped with enough dishwasher tablets, washing powder, shampoo, shower gel etc to last our stay. The welcome pack was much appreciated (especially the wine). If you have the time then take the wine tour organised by Andy. He knows a great deal about the area as well as knowing some small, family run vineyards. It opened our eyes to St Emilion wine production. Nothing was too much for Andy in making our stay extremely pleasurable. Gold stars to both Andy and Richard!
We had a fabulous holiday in Rose Cottage. The location is ideal for both quiet French villages and the busier towns. The site and the buildings have been thoughtfully configured to provide all the facilities we needed for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The meal on arrival was excellent and the care by Andy and Richard to make our stay as enjoyable as possible was outstanding. In particular, the wine tour is not to be missed!
Beautiful, pristine cottage amid potted plants, lavender, roses and vines. The cottage was extremely well equipped? The pool was sparkling and inviting. We enjoyed the private verandah overlooking the pool.
The owners were friendly and gave all info needed on possible excursions.
The free welcome meal was waiting in the fridge; it was delicious as were the other treats baked by Richard. Thank you.
We appreciated the high standard of this gite.
