“Run the other way .”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

We had booked two rooms for my husband and children and were given rooms that were not together. The beds were as hard as rocks and pillows as flat as can be. Had to ask for several more pillows just to make it feel like one. The a/c was okay but one day all of the sudden the overhead fan came on and could not be turned off by the thermostat in the room or the main control panel at the lobby. Needless to say sleeping was very uncomfortable . Lack of closet space along with very small rooms made it awful . We had just stayed in Paris for 6 days and that hotel had enormous rooms in comparison and Paris is not known for large rooms. I would have run the other way if it wasn't for the fact that we only there for 3days /2nights. Great location , parking but not worth it.

Arrived and everything was no bother at all. Great room with a stained glass window, king size bed and bath. Close to everything, free wifi and parking, very helpful and friendly staff. The staff fulfilled every request we had and carried our bags up to the room. Didn't try the breakfast as we cycled through the vineyards and took a picnic for all.

Room Tip: Get the king size room...

Good location and everything we needed for a two night stay in Saint-Emilion. The rooms are small; the one we had had lots of storage and just enough plug-ins. It was quiet and comfty. Plus there was an elevator. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. We loved Saint-Emilion and hope we can return some day.

Room Tip: Choose inside room if noise bothers you.

This was the only place with vacancies when I booked well in advance, so it was this hotel or nothing. Rooms & bathrooms very small & decor tired. The weather was unseasonably cold, the hydronic heating was not working, & the aircon was locked on cool. Had to ask for extra blankets, but was still cold, which made it hard to get to sleep. On the up side, breakfast was ok & the location is very good. The hotel staff were helpful, organising a great taxi driver to ferry us from & to the station, & recommending things to see. Would like to check out the annexe, which looked cute, but would probably opt for something a bit more luxurious next time.

We spent one night here as part of a road trip. We had stayed in a range of hotels and this one was pretty good.

The secure parking was quite a distance from the hotel but it was free and safe. We could have offloaded the luggage outside but the roads were narrow and complicated so we parked first and walked.

In all the hotels we stayed, 8, this was the only one where we were escorted to our room and talked through the facilities. Kind of sweet.

The room was decorated in an unusual way but we liked it. The view over a small vineyard was very nice. It was clean and the bed was okay. We slept well.

The location couldn't have been better. One minute from the main square - perfect.

We had breakfast which was very good - fresh croissant and bread, jams, fruit juice, a big pot of coffee, fresh fruit, yoghurt, fruit purée, cheese... And not a buffet- it was all there on your table. I think we ate pretty much everything.

I loved it and will be back.

Room Tip: I'm guessing they are all good

The hotel itself is basic and clean (although the beds and linen could do with an upgrade). However I can only concur with the other reviewers regarding the manager.

We made an inquiry by phone and sent a mail afterwards to confirm our reservation (paid the first night in advance - two months before our stay). Today we were accosted by the manager who accused of sleeping in the same room as my wife and demanding I pay for two rooms (one for the e-mail and one for the phone call - because he had written down my number when I called). Obviously I refused indicating we only confirmed a single room (why else the entire pre-billing). He flat out accused us of fraud and called in the Gendarmerie (who after listening to our story and taking down our identity let us leave the hotel). The owner has threatened to sue and to be honest I'm looking forward to seeing him in court.

Left the hotel and now staying somewhere much more agreeable (Vignobles Fabris).

Whatever, enjoying the rest of our vacation in France :-)

This classic hotel has a wonderful central location in this gorgeous old historic village.
You couldn't get any more central and it was easy to find by Navman GPS with a very handy free car park close by. (which is a real asset in a town where parking is very limited)
We were situated in the adjacent annexe which was in a similar old, but refurbished, stone building. It was very comfortable and clean and our room had a charming leadlight window with a some historic images of the town & its history.
Our hostess was most charming and extremely helpful with checking websites & printing a map - she 'went the extra mile'!
The bathroom was slightly basic with just a hand-held shower nozzle in the bath, no screen/curtain so a bit draughty & messy (but these seem common in Europe - so it may be my technique?) - a wall bracket would make a difference! No fridge or wi-fi in rooms.
So close to the array of wine cellars, cafes & artisans that grace this place!
The charming central square is but a 2 min. walk away
