This is my second trip on this train, which has been operating with various steam and diesel engines down the years. If you like a touch of nostalgia, vintage carriages, a trundle alongside an estuary between Paimpol and Pontrieux then this trip may be for you. It isn't a cheap trip, but the views are worth it - and a big plus for steam engine fans is that you may be as lucky as I was to climb up onto the footplate to see the mysterious workings of the engine!
If you use a wheelchair or have difficulty walking then the train may not be suitable as it has no adaptations, and the stop for a crepe and a cider at the halfway point is down an embankment with some steep steps, which you have to climb back up again afterwards.
Pontrieux is a pretty riverside place to stop for lunch before the return journey. This short video gives you an idea of some of the things you will see on your journey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ane4VUQ48sE. Enjoy the day if you decide to go.
