“Elegance and charm”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Our party of 20 fully occupied this exceptional place during our stay late May. We arrived altogether by bus, which due to the narrow access, dropped us a few 100 metres away. There was a hotel car to take our luggage, and we enjoyed the short walk through the village. The Chateau has a well kept garden and an excellent view across and down the valley. There is ample seating outside provided if the weather permits. The bedrooms are well equipped and furnished in great style, to suit the old atmosphere of the building. The public sitting area was not large , but the attractive dinning room comfortably took our party. The food both at dinner and breakfast was innovative and imaginative, and was of a high standard Overall, difficult to fault, and our thought on leaving was " when can we come back" !

This is one those place that you are so excited to have found. Sadly we were only there 24 hours but we will return. Charming, warm and attentive host in Stéphane, who at the same time allows guests their privacy. Lovely breakfast and dinner. Absolutely beautiful suite. Hotel tastefully and beautifully decorated. We just really loved the place and it is finds like this that keep us returning to France. Magnificent setting and host.

Wonderful food, elegant, spacy and comfortable rooms, beautifull garden, plenty of place to rest in the castle and most of all the courtesy and charmeof the owner. A real treat. A place to rest and be spoiled.

We stayed one night in a beautiful room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children)
Wonderful furniture, beautiful view on the mountains in front of the hotel
The breakfast was gorgeous, with a large offer of homemade food (i.e. marmalades, organic products, cakes, etc.)

Room Tip: good choice to stay with the view on the valley

We spent two nights here on our 3 week tour of France and it was one of the loveliest places we have visited. The chateau itself is beautiful and wonderfully furnished with a fascinating selection of antiques. It sits amongst picturesque views and tiny villages and offers a place of quiet reflection with views of the mountains from the gardens. Stephane is a wonderful, charming and informative host. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner at the chateau, both of which use as much produce as possible from the onsite organic gardens. Highly recommend.

What a glorious place to encounter.
A last minute decision to visit Chateau des Allues but what an experience.
The house is spectacular. The grounds are manicured and there is a lovely vegetable garden that the owner Stephane uses as inspiration for his cooking.
The house is superbly furnished and our room was luxurious and grand.
We stayed for dinner at the Chateau hosted by Stephane. It started with Aperitif on the lawn followed by a 3 course dinner, with produce sourced from his garden and locally. Local Savoie wines were poured with dinner. Delightful!
Dinner is served in the lovely dining room with all guests communing around a large dining table.
It was such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. I am already thinking about my next visit......a long way from Australia but well worth the effort.
Cannot recommend this venue more highly. Perfect!

We were pleasantly surprised at the comfort and charm the Chateau Des Allues gives. Our host, Stephane, took phenomenal care of our needs and made sure we were comfortable. Whilst Stephane plans the menu for dinner, he is flexible to meet any allergies or other needs (and the dinner was excellent!). The homemade breads, yogurts, tarts were delicious and he bought his cheeses and smoked ham from local businesses. We had 4 nights there to relax, sit in the garden and read or sip champagne. We are already planning our trip back.
