“Small rooms, but equipped alright”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

If one is visiting the "Europa Park" and doesn't want to stay at one of the (quite expensive) resort hotels there, Hotel Rebstock is an (for a 3 star place still expensive) alternative due to its proximity to the amusement parc.

Rooms are quite tiny (and compered to the room, the bathroom is large), but meticulously clean. The TV screen size suits the one of the room, so does the desk. Radio-/Alarm-Clock, Safe, shoe-shine set, bathroom kit, as well as complimentary water bottle is available. My mattress was beyond its good days.

The hotel is short in parking space next to the hotel. The assigned parking lot is a few minute’s walk away. As it was rainy, this wasn't all too convenient.

Breakfast buffet is of good quality, except scrambled and boiled egg no hot choices though. But: Sparkling wine is on offer, as well as a separate buffet for kids. The restaurant pretty much caters for the tourist: Pizza, Pasta, Meet, some vegetarian - no fish alternative.

Reception closes at 08 pm (to be kept in mind for check-in), the restaurant at 10 pm.

We had a quad room bunkbeds and double, Went in to the hotel to reception adivsed we booked a room in german, the man behind the desk spoke very good english, he was fast professional no fussing. The breakfast is very much continetal style buffet loved it so did the kids. The Room was clean and the bathroom was clean also. I really dont enjoy staying hotels becuase i am fussy over my bed linnen how ever in this hotel it was great slept well so did the kids. I would defo stay again the decor has greecian feel bit out dated but does not detract from the comfort. The walk from the hotel to the EUROPA PARK was no more than 3 Mins. Would defo saty again cant understand some of the reviews on this hotel. Professional no fuss service clean rooms & many choices of food for breakfast what more do you want!

Good location, 10 minutes walking distance to Europa Park, BUT the owners are not friendly, the hotel is very basic, breakfast is poor. One has to pay for accommodation upon arrival!!! If you have to leave before check out date due to serious health problems, you get no money back. Avoid the buffet dinner at EUR 25. Avoid the pastry shop Michelangelo - bad ice-cream. Choose another hotel.

The hotel was very nice and clean. Our room was a triple room and I have to say it was probably one of the better rooms we have ever stayed in. Staff was really nice and helpful. Even went the extra mile to go outside and show us exactly where to park. Breakfast had many choices and the dinner did as well but was a little pricey. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We stayed 2 nights and it was only a 5 minute walk to Europa park which was very convenient. Would stay there again!

I have just taken a school group to this hotel, would not go back there and would suggest you don't either, mostly due to the owner/manager - he is an awkward, sarcastic --- who should not be in the hospitality business. He managed to offend/ annoy me (on a number of occassions), two more of my staff and our coach driver.
Some of the rooms were dated and walls thin (so noise seemed to travel) but they were generally fine.
There is a small games room but the pool cues had no tips, the table football was missing half of the balls and the DVD player didn't work. And they wanted to close this room at 10pm despite it being out of the way and not disturbing anyone.
The breakfast was good (a typical continental spread) but our evening meal was awful - although there was a salad bar and soup available, over 3 days our main courses were fish and chips, boiled potatoes and burgers and chicken and rice. There was no option and no vegetables. I had to ask for something vegetarian and then had the ----taken out of me for that. Some priceless comments included, "Could I eat ketchup as it looked like blood?" and, "Could I eat vegetables as the snakes and animals had crawled over them!?" There was also a bowl of unappetising, none-descript slop for desert. I actually took my group out for pizza on the last night so I knew they would eat something.
The main course food issue was compounded by the fact that there was a buffet spread available for other individual guests that we could see but not eat. So that made us feel like 2nd class citizens.
The best thing about the hotel was it being a 5 minute walk to Europa Park through the quaint little village Rust.
So I'd recommend you go to Rust and Europa Park, just stay at a different hotel!

Rust is a town with a village atmosphere that is connected to a large theme park (an odd thing to carry around) in the green countryside of SW Germany. It is a friendly safe environment, but it sleeps very early most of the time. When you need to sleep there, you can do it well at Hotel Rebstock where the staff is friendly and works hard to make you comfortable during your stay. They have an outstanding buffet for breakfast to get you started. From the hotel you can walk to Europa park in about 5 minutes. The only downside about Rust is that it's not a very exciting place once the park closes, but that at least lets you save up your reserves for the next day. In any case, Hotel Rebstock is highly recommended.
