Me and my partner loved it here. We instantly felt welcomed. The food was delicious and not expensive. Even my partner ventured out of his usual plain pizza dinner, to have what I had had upon the last visit. This was because he loved the traditional Greek flavours put into the dish - Spaghetti Napolitano. We also ordered garlic bread, which was cheesy and utterly divine!
We ate outside amongst the small cacti and mint plants for table decoration, but ventured inside to gaze upon black and white pictures. When looking upon the pictures and ornaments, we asked who they were of and Peter gave us a lovely insight to some of the people. We found out that they were of family and friends throughout the generations. (Peter is the lovely family and business man who runs the restaurant.)
We were utterly mystified at the experience endured that night and instantly wanted to come back to support Peter and his family once more.
Peter, has a young daughter and two new born twin boys. It is a family run business passed down from Peters wife's father. Peter spends every day in the summer out the front of the Old House Restaurant ready to positively greet any customers; whilst his wife cooks the spectacular food. In the winter he opens at the weekends for the locals to dine.
Me and my partner spent our last hours of our holiday in Afandou chatting to Peter about anything and everything, he was great company and we shall definitely be wanting to go back and see how he and his family is in the future.
Thank You and Good Luck!
