Having worked as a holiday rep in afandou a few years ago its allways nice to go back and see the many close greek friends I made in the Village of Afandou.
The Golf View was a big fave of mine as a rep and I very rarely had any problems with the guests who stayed there.
Having stayed at the Golf view this July just for a week, I wish It been alot longer, as being at the golf view makes me think why i ever come back to england !!!
The family who run the hotel are one of the best families you will ever meet. I have known Yiannis for many years now and its always a pleasure to see him and the family.
Ifs its your first time to afandou, or if you are reading this to get more info before you go, please do not take any notice of Mystery shoppers review!!!!! If you want a real taste of greece and rhodes, afandou is the place to be . The hotel is an ideal location for exploring, the village sqaure is just up the road 15 min walk at a steady pace ( have a few drinks before you go doesnt seem to take as long then ! ).
The beach is a nice 20 minute walk, but as stated on other guests reports you can get the free bus from the hotel .There is a bus stop outise the hotel which will take you to Rhodes town, faliraki, and lindos . But if you want to explore the whole island i recommend you hire a car.
All in all this is a fantastic hotel with fantastic people, The vilage is a true greek village which you cannot beat for atmosphere.
If you require any infomation on any part of afandou or rhodes please feel free to message me ! YAMAS.

just back from the golf view hotel where we spent 2 weeks - brilliant - we didn't want to go home.
its a family run hotel - exellent home cooking, clean rooms, swimming pool, laundry service if required, entertainment - a greek night once a week - hilarious, karaoke once a week too - give it a go! everything catered for - you just have to ask - nothing is too much trouble for them.

the family - mummy and daddy (stavros) ( as we called them) and their 2 sons (george and yannus) are exceptional people, warm, friendly and went out of their way to ensure that we had a great holiday - mummy's cooking was delicious - traditional greek dishes to die for - her rice pudding was so yummy!!! don't forget the cheese and red onion toasties - very tasty!

daddy provides a free minibus to afandou beach 3 times a day. the sons are on hand to provide liquid refreshment from the bar until all hours . some good times at the bar!

we had the best holiday ever and have made some lifelong friends both with the family and among the guests.

we would definately recommend this hotel for your next holiday - we most certainly will be going back.

to all at the golf view hotel - thanks for a wonderful holiday - we look forward to seeing you again next year - your dear friends - j,g,j.m.d.a.c.h,m,k. xxxxxxxxxx

I am not picky and I am not a brilliant housekeeper but the bathroom was FILTHY. Bath and sink needed a good scrub to remove all of the scum before i would even consider brushing my teeth or stepping in to shower - and there was enough fluff and muck behind the bin in there to stuff a pillow.
Staff nice and helpful until you come back with some food from the market - they give you dirty looks and then don't speak to you for the rest of your holiday. They would much prefer you to eat in their overpriced and poor quality "restaurant". Same applies if you go into the village to eat.
Talking of the village it is a 20 minute walk to get there - although very nice when you do, nice people, nice bars, all the food places were reasonable price and good quality.
The beach was nice and the sea wonderful - BUT you couldn't get there by walking (took over half an hour on main roads with no paths). The Golf View did have a minibus taking you down but last trip back was 4pm (they went down there at 10am 12.30 and 4pm)so yo had to be ready to leave then or it was a 7 euro taxi ride back.
