The Monticello Bed and Breakfastin Anacapri on Capri Island was very clean and quiet. Our host was a very nice gentleman who lives with his family on the premises.
We had a very hard time finding the Monticello on foot, even though we were told it was a 10-minute walk from the center of Anacapri town. The road we took to get there is a VERY dangerous and narrow thoroughfare.
The street location of the b and b is "Traverse Monticello," not to be confused with a street you come to first called "Monticello." If you take "Monticello" you will be very sorry and lost for a long time.
The web site http://www.capri.net/en/c/monticello/photo-gallery shows some lovely photos of the Monticello Bed and Breakfast. The breakfast shots are very seductive. But, this is not the breakfast that was presented. We had been looking forward to tasting some fresh fruits like those shown in the photos (grapes, cactus fruit, peaches and plums), and drinking that large glass of orange juice. Instead, we got coffee, packaged croissants and packaged dry toast.
We wish we could recommend this b and b, if only for its charm and cleanliness. But, the photos of the breakfast just burn us up. And, the room was not cheap, charging about $160 per night!
