This hotel is what luxury is all about.....from the moment you enter the property till you leave everything is impeccable....the pool ..the spa ...the food and especially the service. A little pricy but what the heck!!!

You're paying for the service here and it does not disappoint. We felt completely taken care of at every point in our visit. Reception was great and check in a breeze, with a quick but not annoying tour of the hotel and the room. A nice touch was greeting me by name before I had presented any id. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful with our baby. The concierge assisted us with restaurant reservations (some specific ones we asked for, as well as recommendations from them). Special attention must be given to Federico, the pool guy - since we had the baby with us, we spent a lot of time at the pool and he really took special care of us.

They were amazing with the baby! Everyone was so delighted to see him at every time. I know that Italians generally love babies but this was still a lot of fun.

The blackout shades in the room are incredible.

As others have noted, the hotel is in Anacapri which is much much quieter than Capri. The energy of Capri is great and a lot of fun, but at that stage in our vacation we didn't want a lot of hustle and bustle - just peace and quiet. It's easy enough to get to Capri, either by taxi or bus.

Couple of minor things that were nice - they noticed an error on our bill after we paid and while we were waiting for the shuttle to the ferry terminal, and rushed over to point it out and credit us something like €8. And despite a totally sold out hotel, after some persuading, they were able to give us a late check out.

The only negative is that the internet/wifi service is terrible. In this day and age, that should not happen at a 5 star hotel. My 3G service on my phone was faster and more reliable.

Nestled in the back streets of anacapri this hotel is a great haven for art lovers and food lovers . It's not pretensions and not full of look at me !

However there are in general too many Americans ! Who can be loud and brash , but Capri is full of them also.

The Resturant was very good although the lady who greater us has difficulty seating us. The food was good and the sommelier was very essy to talk to about wines .

My only concern is that I gauge a cook by his boiled egg , 4.5 mins gives a perfect egg for me. Unfortunately he failed and it had to be sent back.

Atmosphere attention to detail excellent .

Went here for morning coffee whilst visiting the island of Capri and the hotel is fantastic. Very relaxing and the service is very good as you would expect. We had a look around the grounds and they were equally as impressive.

We stayed in Anacapri for the second leg of our Italian holiday, having visited the Amalfi Coast first. Everybody had told us this was the best hotel on the island and with the cost of the rooms at over 500 euros a night we were expecting a wonderful stay.

The hotel was stunning with fantastic views. It has a big focus on art and has some wonderful interesting and unique pieces scattered around the hotel. L'Olive restaurant is a double Michelin starred restaurant and didn't disappoint. The breakfast in the same restaurant was also fantastic with a huge selection.

The pool area is very cool with a unique setting as you enter the hotel you can see into the pool. The hotel itself is very cool and immaculate.

The staff were amazing - we were travelling with our 6 month old baby for the first time and they really couldn't do enough for us. They were all very helpful and loved our little baby and all knew her name - which making those little personal touches and going the extra mile really makes you feel valued and welcome which was very much appreciated.

My only slight issue was for the cost of the rooms I expected more. We have stayed in lots of fine hotels around the world and paid less than half the price for far superior rooms. We asked to be moved from our first room for a sea view so on our second night we were accommodated to a much nicer room with a better view. Having seen the brochure those stunning rooms are available but they must be at a greater cost. If you go to Capri and you want to indulge in luxury this is the hotel for you. When we were staying there was a VIP event with lots of Italian celebrities staying in the hotel too so this is the place if you want a stunning hotel in a beautiful location but be prepared to pay a premium for the rooms. The room we stayed in was not worth more than 200 euros a night and certainly not 500 euros. However, overall it was a lovely stay and the staff made up for the room with their helpfulness and friendly service.

We stayed at the Capri Palace for three nights in late May.

The hotel is located tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of Capri town centre.

This is a great location to relax and unwind.

The staff at the reception and the concierge were extremely helpful prior to our arrival and during our stay. They organised the transfers, Resturant reservations as well as a private yacht for the two days. All was seamless and done with a smile. Overall the front desk is very good.

Probably the biggest initial let down was the transfer. Once we disembarked the ferry at Capri port it was all chaos. Our baggage was taken away but we had to follow it to make sure it ends up in the right place. We were told look for the blue van to take you up to the hotel. There was no van in sight at first and once it arrived it did not have any signage on it to say it belongs to the hotel so it was fun and games to guess. The driver was rude and obnoxious and overall unhelpful. When we finally arrived in the bliss of the hotel he also misplaced our luggage.

Once that experience was behind us the reception offered us a room upgrade. We booked a double deluxe sea view suite which was welcomed given we were celebrating my wife's mothers 60th birthday.

On arrival in the room champagne and canapés were organised in my wife's parents suite and we had the Kandinsky and Miro suites.

The main issue with the rooms is that they are dated. This is visible primarily in two area. The technology and the bathroom.

The suite is large and comfortable but in the living room the TV is old, the Internet slow and patchy and we had a CD/ Cassette player. Who has those media formats anymore and let alone travel with them... An iPod Dock / auxiliary cable is well overdue.

The next problematic area is the bathroom. We had both a bath and a shower. The shower had a handheld shower, and overhead shower and a jet was type system. Sadly only the handheld shower was operational. When we tried to operate the over head shower we were left with the shower control in our hand. The jet system did not work at all.

Overall the soft furnishings in the room are also in need of reupholstering and are not up to scratch for the €1,250 a night rate.

Regardless of all the room issues the service in the hotel is outstanding. Both restaurants are superb both in terms of good quality and service.

The breakfast is peaceful and plentiful with lots of food on offer and plenty of hot dishes to order individually.

The pool area is also peaceful and has the benefit of a pizza oven and fresh pizzas.

The overall service and food and beverage experience in this hotel is outstanding including the bar.

If you can overlook the transfer difficulties and the hiccups with the rooms this is a great resort and by the look of things the management is keen to renovate and upgrade the rooms going forward

So to conclude would highly recommend

This hotel is without a doubt the most incredible hotel we have been too. Every thing you could possibly ask for is there. The staff are attentive and friendly and ensure that you are totally happy at all times, making your experience all the more special. The staff are clearly passionate about their hotel and making it the best it can be which is so evident by the way they all look after you. I have never known such a kind, focussed and warm team of workers. From the managers, to the restaurant staff and the housekeeping. They all made me feel welcome, completely comfortable and looked after.
The restaurant is impeccable, you can request almost anything at breakfast aside from the already huge variety that is offered from the buffet, and they will make it for you without any hesitation.
The hotel itself is flawless, they seem to pride themselves in their art work and sophisticated interior, and it certainly does impress. Every where you turn is another amazing work of art. The entrance alone is a piece of art, walking through a corridor of eerie sounds and carvings all over the wall around you; not to mention the windows seeing through under the water of the pool.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a luxurious holiday, somewhere they will feel completely pampered. (There is a spa positioned on the second floor offering a range of treatments specialising in the leg therapy which I was fortunate to have once).
If art and interior design is important to you, this is the place to be. The hotel is impeccable and very trendy.
I hope to be lucky enough to visit again as I can't imagine any hotel topping my experience of this one!
