Lovely quaint B&B off one main shopping street of Anacapri. Full of character. Host family so lovely and welcoming. Loved the homemade Limon Cello they offered us when we arrived. They speak great English and are full of advice for your stay. Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was lovely and lots on offer. Wireless worked on I Pad but not on I Phone. Just an FYI though. It didn't bother us. Definitely recommend to other couples.

Dearest friends, thanks a lot for your review! It has been a pleasure for us to know and host you and we are very happy that you appreciated the B&B, the breakfast and particularly our advices about what to do and see in Anacapri. We try to give every our guests the opportunity to really know the island, but this is easier with people really interested as you were. We are just sorry about the partial drawback with the Internet, we need to boost and improve the signal for all devices, and we will do that.
Thanks also for recommend us to other couples! We hope to host you two again in the future, too. But next time we will apply a “special fee”: your stunning speaker. Remember?... We want it.
Just kidding!
Good luck to all! A big hug from Anacapri!

This b&b in a former monastery offered a room that was spacious and quiet. We had a peaceful and private roof terrace with an outdoor shower. Low on the hot water is our only complaint, it was so charming that we forgot to mention it to the owners. Try the homemade Limoncello...if they have enough on hand they might even sell you a small bottle! Yum! Nice to have WiFi in the room too!

Room Tip: The upper room with small kitchen is not for a tall traveler. I am 167cm. tall (5ft. 6in.) and could...

Dearest Madam, thanks a lot for your review and your nice words about us, we are really glad to read that you found our home so cozy. We are just sorry to come to know only now about the low on hot water, otherwise we would have tried to solve it, although, since neither we nor any next guests have reported this problem, we think this was a temporary drop in water pressure, unfortunately this could happen in Capri in high season, when the consumption of water on the island is very high. Also thank you to give us the opportunity to specify the height of the rooms: our rooms, although placed two on the mezzanine floor and one upstairs, could be defined all as ‘attic rooms’, for their height. Ours is a historical building dating back to 1600 (yes, in Italy we have a lot of stuff so old! ;-) ), and the peculiarity of its architecture, including the height of the guest rooms below the average of a modern room, is an integral part of the atmosphere of this place. It is better to keep in mind also this when booking with us, so thanks for the inspiration for this clarification.
Anyway, I’m 176 cm. tall (5ft. 8in.) and can still use easily the room ;-)
We wish you a good journey to Roma and USA and keep our Limoncello well chilled with the hope to see you soon!

My wife and I recently spent three nights in Antico Monastero in Anacapri and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfortable, clean, quiet and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was excellent - fresh fruit juice, coffee, savouries, pastries et c. It is an unusual, in fact a unique b&b run by a knowledgable, cultured, friendly family. Our fellow guests were also unusual and interesting. We will definitely stay here again and will be recommending it to our friends and family.

Dearest Sir, thank you so much for your beautiful words about our home and our family. Mostly we appreciated your compliments about our culture, because this means that we have been able to bring a little of our passion for our town, along with the chance to let you discover it during your stay. This is one of our goals in hosting people here. We have been glad to meet and talk to people kind and distinct like you, and we really hope to host you or your family and friends again, maybe in an occasion "quieter" than a wedding, so that you can spend more time to rest and visit Anacapri. We wish you all the best!

This b&b is in a character rich former monastery that is so full of charm and utterly unforgettable. We were placed in the top room of the building in a room that offered everything we could have wanted (kitchen, sitting and dining area). The room was spacious and quiet and had a peaceful and private roof terrace for one to soak up the glorious Neapolitan sunshine.
The family running the b&b were fantastic. They were friendly and informative about the islands attractions. Breakfast was a varied feast of fresh fruits, pastries and other delights. Our hosts even went through the effort of making English Scones; a delightfully thoughtful gesture. The restaurant that the family recommended was a fantastic choice used by locals and served beautiful fresh Italian food. I can not recommend this b&b highly enough and the area of Anacapri is well worth a visit.

Dearest friends, thank you so much for this beautiful review. We are really happy that you loved so much the room and Anacapri. We are also glad that you enjoyed our “Mediterranean” scones, even if they were a bit different from the original English! That was just one of our attempts to make particularly enjoyed the stay to our guests and make them feel part of the family during their time here. We loved that your trip has given us the opportunity to meet you, and we hope to see you again. Meanwhile, a big hug from all of us!

My family of 4 (including 2 children aged 4 and 6) and my parents stayed here 3 nights and it was amazing. Gracious hosts who made us feel so comfortable and spoiled us with beautiful home-baked treats and Mamma's Limoncello. It's location couldn't be better and the rooms are more a living space with kitchen and small dining room included. We will definitely be back - our stay could not have been more perfect.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights over our fall break. We were not sure what to expect but we were pleasently surprised. We were greeted by a very kind family who was able to answer all the questions we had about the island. They told us about the different places we needed to see for our short stay. They even called for us to get information on local tours of Capri. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and towels were provided. The home cooked breakfast was amazing! They even took in consideration for food allergies! It is located in a very quiet area and very close to the town center. It was a short bus ride to Capri town. We would stay here again and we would recommend this bed and breakfast to others!

Antico Monastero B&B exceeded our expectations, and was a terrific place to stay on the Isle of Capri in Anacapri. Owned and hosted by a 6th generation Capresi family, the fine makers (and sharers) of a truly special 'limoncello di mama', the accommodations are located above a church (in a monastery) and have a clean, small kitchen, with a table, another room with a double bed and space for an extra cot (or two), a clean full bathroom with shower and fan, and special, pull-down ladder leading to an upper, roof-top terrace with a private 'extra' outdoor shower (needed in the summer!). There is also an air conditioner, which is also needed in the Capresi summer. We were three, a married couple and a sister, and we never felt cramped. Noise from outside was never a problem. The breakfast was sincere, with yogurt, cereal, cappuccino and 'Americano' coffee, and excellent Italian toasted bread and croissants, even though my family's only negative comment was for lacking fresh fruit (it's an island, I told them). Anyway, the family hosts are truly generous, warm and inviting, and will assist you with anything you may need; they only ask for a group photo at your stay's end and where you are from for their long-in/scrap book. If you are going to the Island of Capri, you should stay in Anacapri (for many reasons), and there surely isn't a better Bed and Breakfast on the island than this centrally located, family run home away from home. Thank you Alessando, Papa and Mama; thank you for the 'extra' limoncello di mama!

Dearest friends, thanks a lot for your review, for your nice words about us and about Anacapri. We are happy to know your beautiful thoughts about us and our home, and also that you appreciated our town. Thanks also for the clarification on our Limoncello: we do it and... we share it! In the sense that every occasion is good for a toast... but just because it's nice to drink in company, right?...
We are sorry you've felt the lack of fresh fruit. Unfortunately, when weather is very hot like in these days, it is difficult to keep the fruits in the best way, which is why we decided to put a simple fruit salad on the buffet. But if you asked so that we had known that you would have consumed fresh fruit, we would have provided that too.
Next time! We really hope to see you again and that you keep a good memory of us. A hug from Anacapri!
