During my life I have travelled the world and stayed in all types of hotels but this one, Hotel Mulino, must be my favourite. The room, the service, the staff, the breakfast and the location were all 4 stars.
Yes it was a bit of a walk uphill to the town but if you had a long day the staff was only to willing to drive you in and collect you later all at no charge and with a smile.

I have been very reluctant to write this review. Why? Well, if you found access to a secret garden, how many people would you want to share it with? This is exactly what i thought of Hotel Mulino, i just did not want anybody to know about this place.

Ok let me start! I went to the hotel for about 3 nights with three of my best friends. On arriving in Capri, i was utterly shocked to see how beautiful it is. It’s pretty easy to get from the port (ferry) to the hotel. There are Capri busses just at the port to you just get on it and tell the driver where to go and he’ll tell you when to get off.
On arriving at the hotel – it was funny actually, we walked past the hotel and i muttered to my friend, ‘that house is amazing- wow-
wouldn’t mind living there!’ then when we realised it was the hotel we ran in like 15 year old girls. Never (and i have been to A LOT of hotels) has a welcome been more perfect. I met the entire team, Antonietta the manager, and her daughter as well as Nadia who’s the chef, and? who does everything else, and is also the driver. SO back to the hotel. It’s like living at your favourite aunt’s house, you get the yummy food, you get good advice, and she knows where to hang out on the island. The room, which we shared was nice and big and also had a lovely bathroom (something which always has to tick the box when i pick a hotel) also, we had a patio so we could have breakfast there.

The view from the hotel is great too (not so much from the room, but to be honest, we didn’t spend that much time in the room (and why would you if you are in Capri). The hotel also has a lemon tree and generally, the hotel is maintained to an extremely high standard! The breakfast was so yummy, fresh bread, cakes and pastries, pancakes, juice- absolutely scrumptious! Also- Nadia the chef taught me and my friends how to cook a famous Capri cake and baked us cookies.
What else could i mention! Location- the hotel is about a 30 min walk to Grotto Azzura (the blue grotto) which is one of the key sights (if probably the only sight- definitely worth seeing).

The beach- called Faro is about a 30 mins bus ride (probably less- buses are very very cheap and fast) from the hotel as well (i think in the opposite direction to the Grotto). What needs to be said is that it’s an island, so you can’t expect everything to be a 5 minute walk. But the hotel is extremely helpful with all questions and advice. They also have a taxi service, so you can always rely on them to take you anywhere and pick you up.

I am still in touch with the staff who made the trip unebelievable.
Also- the people in Capri are lovely, not one bad thing to say about anything on the island.

I cannot wait to go back to the island. Now that you know, try to keep it hush!

If there is Paradise on Earth, it is here, it is here, it is here!

We had a two week stay on Capri. Many people we know, who had only visited the island on a day trip, questioned that we would find enough to keep us occupied for two weeks, but we felt that we had a very full holiday. We only left Capri on two occaisions, once to go to Sorrento and the second time to visit Positano. Capri has much to offer, from beautiful scenery to wonderful fresh food, but that is for the traveller to discover.

Hotel Mulino became our home over the two weeks. Antonietta , her family and staff made us very welcome and were key in making our holiday the very special time that we had hoped for. In the Mulino we found what we were looking for, a small hotel, close to, but not in the centre of a town, the walk into Anacapri was about 20 mins up-hill and about 10 mins return (down-hill). If Antonietta or Juan were available, we did not have to take the up-hill walk, as they were more than happy to give us a lift in the hotel minibus.

The hotel is exceptionally well looked after, with the rooms being spotlessly clean and the garden surrounding is full of colour and just the perfect setting for breakfast. Each morning there were freshly baked breads and cakes, and not to forget, as other reviews have raved about,Nadia's chocolate pancakes, but not having such a sweet tooth, Nadia served them plain with freshly sqeezed lemon juice (lemons from the garden)and sugar for us.

The hotel does not have a swimming pool, and for one of us this could have proved a great trial, but infact it was not missed at all. Having said this, the project for 2009 is to add a pool in land which is adjacent to the hotel, with access from each of the rooms.

At the risk of this review becoming a mammoth essay. we will end by saying, all involved with the hotel were very genuine people, and just wanted us to enjoy our stay on Capri and as such, offered all the help and assistance they could, from running us about, sharing their favourite places and resturants,to booking tickets for events, and we did shed a tear on leaving.

Al Mulino is a charming hotel nestled on the lush green hillside of Anacapri, between lemon and orange trees, blossoms and a garden of olive trees. Here, where peace, quietness and tranquility are only graced by the singing of the birds, you meet with all the charm of the beautiful island of Capri.
The atmosphere of this enchanting family run hotel is delightful, each detail is made with love and delicacy, from the ornaments to the decorations in the rooms, hallways and lobby, and the beautiful surroundings of the hotel. The rooms are so lovely and bright, with a terrace surrounded by green for you to enjoy the idyllic ambience, and offer all the comfort you could wish for, even the use of free internet access at the hotel.
Each morning a more than delicious breakfast is made by Nadia, and be it caffe, cappuccino, or caffe latte, fresh juice and delicious fruit and baking, it is all the same wonderful.
But what made my stay most unforgettable and a cherished memory is the genuine kindness, warmhearted friendliness and gracious care of Antonietta and everyone at the hotel. It made staying at the Mulino the happiest vacation, and it became like home, where you always wish to return to. Antonietta, her family and staff are more than wonderful, and Hotel Mulino is a gem of Anacapri.
From the elegant property you can see the blue sea, with the splendidly lighted cruiships sailing by in the evening, or the fisherboats at night, with the lights of Ischia greeting from the distance. It is only a short walk between flowering vegetation and gardens to the Villa Damecuta, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the endless sea and step into the pages of a history book. And if you wish, you can keep walking down to the famous blue Grotto, among cacti, palm trees, and exotic flowers.

The island of Capri is magical, and Hotel Mulino, with its idyllic location, beauty and graciousness is not only a gem, but a treasure of Anacapri hospitality.

We had a wonderful time at a wonderful hotel run by a wonderful family and staff! We are very regular travellers and know a great hotel when we see it. The location was just a few mins from the centre with a free shuttle service when you need it. The hotel was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated in typical Capri style. The manicured gardens were a joy to behold as we ate breakfast on the sunny terrace. The family and staff really couldn't do enough for us! The free wireless internet enabled us to have a stress free stay by keeping up with our business commitments, whenever we wished to. We're definately planning on returning in a few months time. Enjoy!

Hotel Mulino is located about 15-20 minutes walk from the center of Anacapri. It is a steep uphill walk from the hotel to the town, which we and our two young rambunctious sons enjoyed, but might be difficult for some. It is also located a short bus ride or 30 minutes walk from the Blue Grotto where we had a delightful seaside lunch at the Add' o Riccio restaurant just across from the grotto. Antonietta and her staff, including her daughter Simona, who both speak English, were very helpful and friendly, arranging for pick-ups, bringing our luggage to us so that we could have a day walking and hiking around Capri, arranging a rental scooter for us (and scooter pick-up at the hotel), serving us coffee on the terrace, and shuttling us into Capri along with other friendly hotel guests. It seemed that several of the other hotel guests were Italians in Capri for the weekend.

The room was immaculately clean with lovely blue tile on the floor and bathroom, and a private patio with view of the garden. The breakfast on the terrace was very good, and there is a distant view of the sea from the terrace. But really, it was the warm service that Antonietta et al provided that made the hotel worth its three stars and made our stay there very comfortable.

We were in Capri during an Italian holiday long weekend, and the island was jammed with day-trippers and also Italian weekenders. When we tried to book online a few weeks before our trip, we found that many two-star hotels, guest houses and B&B's were already full. We had really wanted to stay overnight on the island to see the quieter side--with Hotel Mulino we saw Capri's lovely quieter side.

We stayed in this hotel in October. We are very upset, but not for the hotel. The hotel is clean and the woman in this hotel was very nice with us. We are upset because we thought that we could spend a vacation near the beach, near the sea and in Capri. This hotel is 10 miles away from the beach, in Anacapri, and totally isolated.

Doesn't have a swimming pool and every time you want to go out you need to take a taxi that in Capri are very, very expensive. So before you book control the position of the hotel on the google map.
