“Stunning romantic Tuscan villa”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

We had a fabulous four nights here in august. The building is beautiful 15th century but renovated in a very modern stylish way. We stayed in room four with beautiful views across the valley, I especially liked the quirky round window in the bathroom.

We were made to feel very welcome by Andrea and all the staff were friendly. We enjoyed eating here on three nights looking out at the beautiful views. Although in a small village in the hills it really didn't take long to get anywhere and we had lovely days out in Siena and wine tasting organised by the hotel.

Special mention must go to smog the resident grey poodle who was adorable.

Thank you all for a special stay

Room Tip: Go for a room with a view, room four was not a suite but still spacious and just as beautiful views...

My husband and I have stayed in many hotels in Italy and Villa Sassolini is amongst the best. It combines a stunning building and location with great contemporary design. The service is wonderful and the food excellent.

Our trip to Italy had a hole in the middle with regard to accommodations, and that was by design. Our plan was to set out from Cinque Terre, travel through Chianti on the way to Rome, and just find somewhere (a winery, a bed and breakfast, some quaint and remote place) to be in the country. We happened upon Villa Sassolini and the amazing picturesque suites were such a luxurious idea, we called and booked it. Mid-week availability and we got a deal on the rate!

Arrival to the hotel upped the ante tremendously. It's a very beautiful location, on the top of the hill, and George (the wonderful man who has worked there for more than 8 seasons) started us out on an amazing stay!

I do recommend eating at least one dinner there at the hotel. They have a new chef every season, on purpose, and the level of dining was unrivaled! A truly great wine selection, and some of the best food preparation and presentation we found throughout Italy.

Rome is on our list for a revisit, so we will definitely be returning to Villa Sassolini!

Room Tip: Ask what's available, because no two rooms are the same!

I can't say enough great things about this beautiful villa and its staff. It is one of the most exquisitely decorated hotels I have ever stayed at. The owner has paid attention to every single detail, and the decor and layout of the rooms are exquisite. Andrea & Ricardo bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant, and to make sure we really enjoyed Tuscany. We ate at their restaurant two nights and it truly was some of the best food we had in Italy. They really do a good job at preparing the menu to make it unique Tuscan fare. You do need to drive around quite a bit to get to wineries and other sights, and the roads can be a little scary so make sure that is something you are prepared to do. Considering everything I would highly recommend this hotel to a friend, and if you are looking for a relaxing weekend atop the Tuscan countryside then this is your place.

We discovered Villa Sassolini through reading Loney Planet Florence and Tuscany guide book listing an trendy boutique places to stay in Tuscany. It would be much convenience if you arrive by car being in a small hill top village outside Montevarchi, 15 minutes from A 1 highway
Rome-Florence .Service is personal ,relaxed and attentive.Rooms are nicely and modern blend of decoration.view is fantastic of Tuscany hill landscape. Front landscape with picturesque swimming pool where one can sit around and absorb Tuscany fresh air with a sip Chianti or a Pellegrino in the afternoon is just heavenly. The manager Andrea and his team are always at your side to make your stay as perfect as possible. Not to mention the dinner served are quite good and wine selection extensive. We would not hesitate to recommend Villa Sassolini to anyone who appreciate romantic atmosphere, friendly service and a boutique feel.

Room Tip: Get the room facing the valley .

This hotel is one of the best boutique hotels we ever been to. Andrea the hotel manager made our staying amazing. We booked a standard room and because the hotel was not full, we got an upgrade, without even asking. Breakfast is perfect, the restaurant and the chef are magnificent. We truly recommend!
