We stayed with as a group of 5 families with 10 kids between us. From start to finish we were made to feel at home. Great food cooked by Luis and Jenni who were friendly and professional. The house is a real labour of love - recently restored over 5 years by Alasdair, the owner. The area is remote and beautiful. Fantastic walks down river gorges, fossil hunting, exploring castles, up the mountains. Thanks for having us... :)

We stayed a couple of nights during late November whilst travelling through Northern Spain, a fantastically remote location. Excellent accommodation which reminded us internally of a Scottish castle. Excellent and willing hosts wanting to ensure that the experience is enjoyable.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a long weekend staying at Mas de la Serra. We unexpectedly found ourselves to be the only guests at the property, which was daunting for all of about 30 mins and then we lapped it up.
Very remote, total utter silence, beautiful scenery, weather and facilities. We couldn't have asked for more.
Luis and Jenny, our hosts, are the loveliest people you could hope to meet and they tended to our every whim.
Fabulous breakfast each day. We had 2 dinners at the Mas - again, Jenny's delicious cooking
Honesty bar means you can select your own wine with dinner
Luis drove us to Valdarobbres one night (€20 each way), which was definitely worth doing - lovely place and highly entertaining dinner (no frills!!)
We paid €50 each to go cycling one afternoon. One bike was too small for my 6ft5 boyfriend, but that was equally our fault for not checking. The other bike's gears were broken. In retrospect, the equipment should have been better, but we should also have checked beforehand
Gym - the website says there is a gym, but it is just a room with a couple of hand weights, which I thought was misleading
Pool - absolutely beautiful.
We spotted lots of ibex grazing on Luis' nicely tended lawn. So magical watching and listening to them crunch their way through the almond trees
The area is remote, beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely. If you want privacy, ask for the one with the private terrace

A villa, in the middle of nowhere, 3 hours from Barcelona. If you are looking for peace, quiet and a complete rest, than this is the place. The hosts, Luis and Jenny, were fantastic, and we have never been more relaxed. We didn't leave the complex the whole time we were there, just relaxing walks, swimming in the pool, amazing food, and a complete rest. The scenery is incredible - a part of the world that is very underrated, as it is really beautiful.

My partner and I spent five nights on our honeymoon here. It was perfect. The house is a marvel -- interesting rooms, lots of common space, an amazing "tower room" with a balcony and view of the whole area. We went hiking some days and spend other just relaxing by the pool. Jenny and Luis take care of everything. The drive to Mas de la Serra is not terribly long (coming from Barcelona) -- about three hours. The road up to the house is steep but worth it for the views.

We had a fabulous time at this farmhouse, which has been restored with attention to every detail. We felt as if we had our own house for the week since it is one of the most remote locations I have ever stayed. Although the dirt track to the main road takes some getting used to, the absolute quiet and solitude is wonderful. The food was excellent, and Jenny and Luis really know how to be attentive but still let you feel as if you are by yourself. Great hiking and views right off the property and it takes about 3 hours from Barcelona to drive there. A very unique experience.

Room Tip: All the rooms are well appointed and the only issue is whether you take a suite or single room.
