“Tapas and fun”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

Still a very good place even just for morning coffee (lovely position overlooking Porthcressa Beach). The evening menu is good and the food always freshly prepared and good value.
Look out for live music nights

“Overpriced but good food.”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

This is an interesting place, in a former fire station, hence the name. It is quite small, but right on Porthcressa Beach at St Mary's. There is some seating outside, which everyone wants when it is good weather, so book ahead. I found lunch there to be more reasonably priced, but dinner was expensive compared to mainland prices, but then you aren't on the mainland, you are in an idyllic place with a fantastic view!

“Quite small restaurant, ok for tea and cake.”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Have eaten here in the daytime and evening. Very nice but quite expensive, and the cake portions could be bigger!

“Superb lunch”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

We had lunch here three times in all during our week on the islands, the tapas really was very special, lovely views out to sea too. Didn't get to try the cocktails but they looked very nice, might try them next year!

“One of the best spots for a rest and a view”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

The seafront at St Mary's where the Scillonian lands is busy with boats and activity. But stroll across the town centre and you come across Porthcressa Beach which is an idyllic bay, overlooked by a spic and span new tourist information office , and this cafe.

It is always packed with customers , which is a tribute to the friendly service and good food.

Just sit and soak up the slow pace of live on the islands before you go back to the hive of activity on the quayside.
