One of the best beaches I have been on. Stunning views, clear blue waters and an excellent beach cafe. Don't miss it if you're on Herm.

I enjoyed a blissful swim in bright sunshine on this fantastic white beach. It is not so very shelly though, but it is exotic! never mind the chilly water, you get used to it and when it's coloured emerald why would you not get in. I spent half anm hour in the water, and I can be rather chicken in cold seas.

Unfortunately we visited on a cold, wet and windy day. There were lots of shells on the beach but no more than she'll beach in Dorset. May be better on a warmer day

We took the ferry over to germ with friends and walked over to this lovely beach, its appearance was very surprising. From the arrival pathway suddenly this gorgeous beach appeared comp, tee with beach Ade serving sandwiches and drinks.

The one downside was the ferry company cancelled the 2pm ferry meaning we had a choice of 12:30 of 15:35 and with 2 young children we had to leave early.

Excellent, go!

From Guernsey, sister island Herm is just a 20 minute ferry ride. Day-trippers are usually content to potter about near the harbour but it pays to take a walk on the wild side. From the ferry arrival point signposted paths lead northwards to heathland cropped by rabbits where Burnet roses thrive. On the far side (away from Guernsey) of the island, beyond the dunes and common, lies the wonderful Shell Beach, a long, thin stretch of white sand and tiny shell fragments swept in on the Gulf Stream.

The azure sea is shallow, calm, and safe - perfect for children and adults alike. It could be the Caribbean!

There is a kiosk with a limited selection of food.

I had a wonderful afternoon visiting Herm and would highly recommend the island and its beaches. I also recommend visiting the Herm gift shops and boutiques selling shell boxes and bosun's smocks.
