“Honeymooners delight”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

I contacted Agnes after finding rave reviews online. We were on the home stretch of a less than successful honeymoon and I was looking for a place with a bit more .. edge/character/romance.

We found it here.

The mezze plate and wine that welcomed us was only surpassed by Agnes more than welcome attitude and hospitality. She had the country touch than so many places lack these days.

We stayed in the Dairy. The attention to detail in the design is to be commended. The bed was amazing as is the incredible open shower. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but I loved it.

The best bit of the entire stay for us, was sitting in the spa in the depth of winter, with nothing but the stars above us and the steam from the spa. Tranquillity doesn't come much better.

It's quiet. It's peaceful. If you're after a retreat then this is it. It's a drive into town so there's no late night stumble home from the local pub and it's not the place for parties.

Would happily return or recommend to anyone.

The WiFi is a bit flakey. So my only suggestion is that a WiFi extender is put in place so the situation improves. It's a remote area with limited mobile coverage so those that want WiFi can use it.

Thank you Agnes, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Dairy. No neighbours just cows in the neighbouring property.

I have shuffled through the reviews of this accommodation and it is not often that every comment is repetitively fabulous! I completely agree! Walking into the converted dairy shed, my jaw dropped! Quite clearly, Agnes has taste! It is the small details that make a stay and that was proven in the fact that the bath towels matched the colour of the foliage in the garden, the wine glasses were extravagant, the gourmet treats were plentiful, the wine chilled and the music selection perfect! After further conversation, it was revealed that Agnes was previously a designer of lighting and all made sense. Thank you Agnes for a relaxing and peaceful stay.
My take home plant cuttings and gift of home made soap made me smile all the way home. You deserve all of the accolades. All the best with your magnificent accommodation.

Room Tip: This accommodation is full of farm character with luxurious furnishings and fixtures. Although the d...

From the moment you drive up the driveway and into Afterglow cottages, you are hit with the beautiful scenery that Bellingen has to offer. We stayed in the main cottage and it has everything you need to escape from everyday life. It’s immaculate and has all the features to help you relax.

We absolutely love love love the outdoor spa, especially at night and looking up at the stars. If you stay out long enough, there’s a chance you will see a few shooting stars. The double shower head is a spectacular touch with the view. Rooms are spacious yet very cosy, and the cottage’s itself seems so remote, you forget that you are only 5 mins away from the main street.

Agnes is such a great host; she leaves chocolate, sparkling wine, nibbles and food for tomorrow’s breakfast. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway. We will be back again! =)

We had a fantastic New Years experience at Afterglow Cottages. Agnes was a pleasure to deal with from my first enquiry, going out of her way to offer extra advice and assistance. We arrived to a bottle of champagne in the fridge, a cheese platter as well as ingredients for breakfast the next morning. The cottage was immacuately clean and felt warm and welcoming. We utilised the large balcony and BBQ and loved the outdoor spa! Secluded location allowed for ample privacy. The double rainfall shower is a highlight, as well as the most comfortable bed! Our only complaint was that due to availability we couldn't stay longer! Definitely plan to return.

Room Tip: Would recommend the Main Cottage, fantastic private location!

Not much more to add to the great reviews already received for this little gem of a place near Bellingen.

Just what we were looking for on our road trip from Brisbane to Sydney. We stayed 2 nights and the peace and quiet re charged our batteries.

Agnes was so welcoming and as a volunteer at the local Info Centre was a font of knowledge for recommendations for places to visit and coffee stops along the way.

Bellingen itself is an absolute delight, with plenty of eateries and cafés. Nearby Dorrigo National Park on the Waterfall Way is a must see.

Accommodation was beautiful and the setting quite spectacular. We stayed in The Old Dairy and it was the perfect size for 2. Well equipped kitchen with quality china and glasses. We were sipping wine on the terrace (in the fridge upon our arrival together with nibbles) with Wallabies grazing nearby.

We came a long way to visit but it would be a great weekend get away for a couple.
