“Clean but Basic.”
Reviewed 9 December 2013 via mobile

My husband and I stayed only one night, our room was upstairs with the magnificent panoramic views of the Blackwood river and ocean.
Yes the rooms are old and out dated, but we found it to be fresh and clean, beautiful big , thick towels, tea/ coffee facility, big tv with movie channels, lot's of hot water, big ensuite.there were a few negatives, not heating only a bar heater on the wall, which did warm the room up, no aircon or ceiling fan but there was a pedestal fan in the cupboard, and lastly the bed was very uncomfortable.
We went for a walk along the walking track beside the Blackwood River towards sunset and even though very windy, it was beautiful, we came back and had dinner in the dining room our meal was quick, hot and delicious, maybe over priced but really no different from anywhere else you would go.
Don't stay here if you are looking for a 5 motel because it's not and you shouldn't expect it. Stay here if you want a clean, fresh, and convenient room with fabulous views.

My wife and I went to the hotel for lunch - what a view. We orders a drink and lunch and received friendly and good service. I had the beef burger and it was great value for money. I can't think of when last I had a meal while enjoying a view as good as this.
Highly Reccommended!

Our stay at the Augusta Hotel Motel was a most enjoyable experience. The views from the Riverside rooms are stunning with panoramic views of both the Blackwood River and the Ocean. As our stay was at the end of winter there was a casual sleepy atmosphere to Augusta which was great for us as we came to relax and unwind. The hotel is just a short walk to a jetty with picnic facilities and a path that leads alongside the river itself. There are lots of water birds to see including a flock of Pelicans that nest on a little island in the river.
Augusta is a small, one main street seaside town that has a supermarket, bakery, several other shops and a couple of eating places including fast food. There is also a museum which is a must see and has concessions for seniors.
There is plenty to see in the area including the Lighthouse and caves. Our visit was for 3 nights and that gave us plenty of time to visit the local attractions in a lazy way.
I've already booked our next stay at the Augusta Hotel Motel and am really looking forward to being looked after by the friendly and efficient staff. This is how holidays should be, no hassle, easy to book and good prices.

Room Tip: Ask for a Riverside room. Rooms 9 and 19 have two windows as they are on a corner of the building s...

We had two nights in one of the cheaper rooms overlooking the river. Beautiful view however the room was clean but very basic. When I ran the shower the water ran dark brown for a while before clearing and the taps need attention. The window did not open easily.
The position is great in the main street and plenty of parking. We ate in the Bistro and the food was very good although a bit dear. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

I stayed for one night in the riverside queen room and enjoyed my stay. The room was more than adequate, nice and clean with a decent sized ensuite, television with movie channels, a comfortable bed and very nice views of the Blackwood River. I also had a meal at the Hotel which though a little pricey was absolutely delish (the seafood platter with the best salt and pepper squid I have ever ate). I would recommend this stay wholeheartedly and intend to go back another plus is that Augusta is a beautiful and amazing place to visit.

This is a hotel that begs to be transformed. In fact it begs to have just about anything done to it because it's pretty shabby now. We visited for lunch only. Walking through the 'lobby' it feels like an dormitory building from the 50s - but not in a good way. In fact, even though this is the hotel's main entrance, it looks like an area that's not used - old toilet doors, an open storage room and a dark, dingy corridor. When you enter the dining room, this is where you can see the potential of the place. It's a beautiful view of the river from big windows that opens onto a deck area and lawn. Orders are taken at the bar and we both chose the special of the day - my favourite fish, goldband snapper ($38). Our meals arrived very quickly, (too quickly), with a side of salad and chips. The fish was lukewarm suggesting it had been cooked earlier, tasteless and covered in a fatty, yellow sauce topped with two thin asparagus spears. The small salad was standard and the 'wedges' were out of a packet. We felt ripped off - could have had a lovely meal at a stylish winery for about the same price. Two stars - just for the view.

Was staying with the family few days ago and was totally opposite to what I assumed from the photo. Reception staff is very friendly. But room had few set backs...one of them was mosquitoes. Second was uncomfortable bed. Third was shower with very low pressure n splashes from shower in change room looked terrible. Maids shouldnt be allowed unless checkout time. Complimentary breakfast should be included. Good things abt the place are its convenient and picturesque location which heals everything up...I wud say not bad but alot of room for improvement...cheers
