We were in the area with another family, so we stopped here for a couple of hours to have a BBQ. Nature parks seem to be the rage these days, and this one is a particularly big one, with a big area for kids to explore and play. There's also a massive lawn area which is ideal for playing cricket, soccer or footy - ideal for our family game of cricket. There's two BBQs under a sheltered area, and they were clean and functional, working well. Some good toilets and a drinking fountain are here as well. The lawn area does adjoin the river, so you need to keep an eye on little kiddies. There's some walk trails that start from here as well. Very nice park, and once that doesn't seem to be overly busy.

This park absolutely rocks. Has toilets and bbqs and a wicked bunch of natureplay obstacles. Only 500m from town and lots of shady spots under the oaks. Great for adventurous kids says my 8yo.

Difficult to find but lovely once we arrived. Perfect for little kids who love to explore! Not your traditional playground but still lots to do.

Apparently this nature based playground opened late in 2012 but it must be a well kept secret since I couldn't find other reviews on Trip Advisor. This playground is just on the other side of the river, an easy walk from town, near the hospital, though there's also parking right onsite. You won't find any traditional play equipment here, just a well designed use of nature, including logs, gullies, mounds, climbable trees and some interestingly designed music making items. Will appeal to young and older children as although it initially looks small, there are actually lots of little areas to explore. There are toilets, BBQ and picnic facilities, though I thought there could be a couple more picnic tables. Lovely open space alongside to kick a ball and bike and walk trails nearby. Suitable in good and not so good weather. Come prepared to stay for awhile.
