“Brilliant value and amazing service.”
Reviewed 19 March 2012

My wife and I have just returned from a week in WA spending 3 days at the Sea Breeze. The place is rather quirky being on an old naval base but its not like Exmouth is full of stylish accommodation so we weren't worried about this. The rooms are large and have everything you need, the 24hr air con is a blessing. All staff were excellent, from the lady that checked us in and ticked off all the beaches to visit on the map to the owner his (I assumed) wife and the people keeping the place spic and span, they were all friendly and helpful. The pool is nice and deep and a real relief in the heat and the wildlife hanging around the place (Kangaroos, Emus, huge dragonflies, noisy birds) was awesome. The shuttle to and from town for dinner was very useful and allowed me to get a few beers in!

For the money this place was perfect and i wouldn't hesitate returning.

Oh...and free wireless which is uncommon in this part of the world.

Room Tip: Get an air con room, we had a room at the back as opposed to facing the pool, may be quieter if peop...

Thank you for your nice review and it is great to see that more and more Kiwis discovering Ningaloo Reef! What spins me out is the appreciation of our nature and service and the common friendliness! By the way ALL our rooms have the same air-con outlets and in the summer is a blessing I agree! Nadine is not my wife, she is our GM! I take this as a compliment as I am of the same age as her father! ;-)))) Must be the good lifestyle we all enjoy and the good team we have pulled together! I agree with you that the rooms facing north are quieter and a bit brighter as well. Thanks again and please spread the word amongst your fellow Kiwis and send more over! Hope to see you back soon! Kind and sunny regards Axel

Thank you for your short but very well formulated review! Yes our Air Con is one of a kind and the room climate we are creating is certainly the best in the region. Thanks for pointing this out. Hope to see you back soon! Cya Axel

As a family of 5, we are always having problems booking a hotel room. The Golden Chain accomodated us fabulously. The hotel is nice, neat and has exactly what you need. The showers and air conditioning were fabulous. We used the outdoor grill area to cook steaks from the town butcher that the friendly staff recommended - we had a wonderful dinner. The hotel is north of exmouth just a bit but that makes it closer to the snorkeling beaches. We explored Turquoise Bay, Oyster Stacks (our favorite), Lakeside, and even drove down to Coral Bay! We stayed 4 nights and rented a vehicle at the airport from Budget. We did go over the mileage allowed...but only because the bays are so spread out. We even visited the Shothole Canyon - amazing. In short - if you aren't looking for 'flash' and a reasonable rate with great service and amenities - this is the place for you!

Room Tip: With a family just opt for the standard room, it has a set of bunks in it and we had a cot brought i...

Thx for the nice review and pointing out the advantage of a Standard Studio for Families. We have used February and March to renovate and created a "Deluxe Family Studio" downstairs.
Same bed configuration but nicer linen, flat screen TV;s etc...
I bet the kids made the most use out of the pool too! Thank you for pointing out the need for a car as well and that we are NOT a "posh" Hotel, but clean, friendly with a personal service and all the goodies you need to enjoy Ningaloo. Hope you see you back soon! Cya Axel

Thanks for this great review! Can;t agree more, the Deluxe Studios upstairs are the pick if you can afford the extra $20/ night. Clean, comfy studios and friendly professional staff is certainly our foundation of the business. The location and outside is a drawback and we are trying as best as we can to make it look good, but with water restrictions, a non supportive Defence Department as our Landlord and the building Heritage Listed it makes things a bit more difficult. Glad that on the inside however we deliver and that the "Shrek Factor" has caught you too! Big big and uggly on the outside but nice on the inside with a great heart! Hope to see you back soon!

The hotel staff has been friendly, polite and professional. Would recommend to have Jim the manager take on aspiring hospitatlity trainees from any TAFE, they would lear heaps in that little place.
Not far from the reef and beaches, it was an excellent bas of operations to visit the area.
Will definitely go back there if visiting Exmouth again.

Room Tip: Contact the manager asap.

Thank you for your review and great to hear that you enjoyed your stay last year in March. Sad to say that Jim fell ill and is now helping business people in the region as Manager of the Small Business Center Gascoyne. He will love your comment! New Manager is Nadine and equally friendly and professional if not a tad better! Our new receptionist Liz is able to take care of you too, so I am very proud of our team! See you again soon to swim with the Whale Sharks...from end of March...I can;t wait! Cya Axel

We stayed at the Sea Breeze right after Axel and family commenced its operation. 13 or so years later my hubby and I stayed there again over the Christmas 2011-2012 holiday. Rooms were very clean, air conditioning super, cooking facilities and good fridge included in our quite large room. Free internet connection was very welcome, also. Pool was very clean. The location is about 5 km out of town and no problem if you have a vehicle (and I understand auto rental is readily available) and a shuttle was provided for our early new years eve dinner in town. The last place we stayed (the Potshot around 3 years ago) was very dirty and run down by comparison and was right in town, hence pretty noisy. Highly recommend the Breeze for a comfortable stay with extremely hospitable hosts!

Room Tip: Sometimes out of town just a little is a good option!

Thx for the great review and sharing your experience. How good was that weather! Thx for choosing us again and I am sad to hear that you had a not so good experience with our competition. It reflects bad on the region and I rather see everyone leaving Exmouth as happy as you! Hopefully I don't have to wait another 13 years to welcome you again! See you soon and hopefully next time you bring the boat!

We stayed at the Sea Breeze for 4 nights and had a fabulous time exploring the Cape Range National Park and Ningaloo reef. This resort is good value for money in an area which seems to be quite expensive. Our room was very spacious, had a kitchenette and was clean. We especially enjoyed the outdoor eating/BBQ area where we cooked our dinner on a couple of nights. The staff at the resort were extremely helpful in giving advice on trips to take, where to snorkel, what to see etc. They spent lots of time explaining and talking about the area to us which felt really different after spending five nights in a city hotel. We were also able to rent an esky(vital in hot weather to have cold food/drinks as there are no shops in the national park), sun shelter, and snorkelling equipment from the hotel which was really handy.

Thank you for your review and pointing out our Beach Combo Hire. As long as you have snorkel gear, a rashy shirt, sunshelter for sun protection and an esky you are right! We offer this hire service to make it easier and change the ice blocks each morning if needed. Great to hear that you value our prices and service. Hope to welcome you again soon!
