“A great place to stay in Ningoo”
Reviewed 22 August 2012 via mobile

We were charmed with this unpretentious and really lovely place to stay. Axel who owns it is really helpful in advising on what to do and where to go. We had a deluxe suite which was comfortable and has everything you need including free wifi except there is no private sitting out space. There is however shared eating space outside and by the pool. You must have a car to access the wonderful Ningaloo reef in the Cape Range national park. Distances are quite big to drive to the reef But well worth it. We loved Oyster stacks and Turquoise bay( an apt description) as best snorkelling places. Whales are both seen in the sea and is the best place to eat in Exmouth which is 5 mins away by car. Prices in WA are exorbitant for European travellers so nothing is good value. But as a place to stay in Exmouth this is great

Thank you for your review and the kind words. Yes I agree, from a European point of view WA is a very expensive place to travel. It is therefore even more important to book accommodation you can trust to be of good quality and good value and don;t forget the wildlife around is for free! ;-)) I think we have found a good balance between great customer service, professionalism, cleanliness, Aussie Exmouth time and solid accommodation including all you need to have a good time. Thx for pointing out the car again, I can;t highlight is enough! Whoever is thinking of coming to Exmouth, rent a car or come with your own! Thx again and I hope that you will visit us again some time. Keep spreading the word! Cya Axel

We stayed at this resort for one night on our way south from Karratha. Unfortunately we didn't have time to experience all the facilities that this unique resort had to offer but we enjoyed our brief stay there nonetheless. We booked a deluxe room on the first floor which was large, spotlessly clean and nicely furnished, as well as having a fridge and kitchenette which was handy. The peace and quiet of the location of the resort as well as the thick concrete walls in the rooms made sleeping a dream! It would be easy to be put off by the less than inspiring exterior of the resort as you drive up but my advice would be to see past that and take it for what it is. It's clear that the owners have put in a tremendous amount of work to transform the resort into what it is today and I take my hat off to them.
We will definately be back to experience more of beautiful Exmouth one day and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Thank you for the compliment! Yes the presentation of the Base it;s and our surroundings are quite far from perfect o what the holiday maker expects! Unfortunately we are on a Military Base and the development we are allowed is pretty much reached. Water restrictions, brackish bore water and a constant challenging climate making it very hard for us. Our priority clearly lays in our rooms and customer service! Thank you for mentioning the amount of work we have put in and we are very happy to hear that you had a great time and coming back! I hope soon!
All the best

Our experience at the Sea Breeze Resort in Exmouth was fantastic. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and the facilities excellent. As a bonus there were regular visits from the local wildlife. The staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble. It was a delight to stay in a place that understands how highly valued "service" is. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Thank you for your review. Your nice words are very encouraging and very much appreciated! The Emus with their chicks are certainly something else! They are sooooo funny to watch! I had to rescue 2 of the little ones out of our pool the other day! Papa Emu was not happy with the little ones! Anyhow, it is great that you are sharing your experience with others and I hope that we can welcome you back here soon!

Wonderful 1 week spent in the Sea Breeze. The resort is owned by a German couple who have struck the ideal balance between Germanic efficiency and Australian laid back attitude. We booked an all inclusive package which included a car rental from Europcar (that's really required in that part of the world), and a whale shark tour with 3 Islands. We were picked up and dropped off at the airport (complimentary service), and were extremely well looked after throughout. As it's a self catering accomodation, i didn't expect the level of human contact and service we received- really superb! The family room was immaculate and well appointed, as were the kitchenette area, communal barbie area and the laundry room. Staff is efficient, professional and polite - very friendly and helpful as well (showed us the snorkelling spots). The resort is 5 km out of town, on the doorstep of the Cape Range national park. Multiple snorkelling and whale watching opportunities. If you're lucky, you'll also see an emu and his 5 little ones, coming to drink around the resort. Would warmly recommend this place and would happy return! A word of warning, though - Exmouth is a remote little town, focussed on the sea and the outdoors in general. If you're not up for that, Exmouth may not be for you. If you're up for it, get yourself to the Sea Breeze resort!

Thank you for your review and I think you hit the nail on the head. We can not deny our German heritage. We added a new dimension to "recycling" by rescuing this part of the historic Naval Base and turning it into a resort. Over the 15 years in Exmouth, we learned to change the German "ACHTUNG!" into Aussie "laid back - no worries Mate" but left the "she'll be right Mate!" attitude out of the business. Cleanliness, customer service are more important to us, then golden water tabs. Our guests become Mates and it is like staying with friends as we are happy to share our experiences and give advise to increase your holiday experience. What struck me though is teenagers commenting and thanking their parents for the best holiday of their lives! I have 3 teenage girls myself and I know how hard it is sometime to please them all! Yet over and over children of all ages love the resort, it;s wildlife ( Emus, Giant Lizards, Roos and bird life ) the pool and of course the Foxtel TV programs! As you said Exmouth is an outdoor place and we encourage to spend as much time 'out there" as possible! I hope we will see you back some time and thank you for your nice letter too! We do appreciate your kind words ! Cya Axel

I came here on a 6 day work trip, iv previously stayed at the novotel whilst in exmouth but found seabreeze more accommodating and customer service exceeding the Novotel.

Although fairly quiet on my trip the staff are amazing, accommodating your every need an are very friendly.

Would definitely recommend this hotel for any stay in exmouth.

Thank you for your comparison. The Novi is a stunning property, with great art in reception and an amazing outdoor bar. Their rooms are designed to be 4 1.2 star and of course it is the place to be and shine in tiny Exmouth. But shiny water tabs and waterfront wears off pretty quick when their prices come into place and customer service is inconsistent. We "recycled" an American Navy Chief Petty Officers Quarters and turned it into a resort. The building is heritage listed and we are on a lease, so a lot of things are simply not possible on the outside. We have however achieved an atmosphere which makes people happy, as long as they can accept that our location is unique and let us take care of them! Our art in the building are my photos printed on canvas. It is personal. Our WIFI is free, so as the Restaurant Shuttles we introduced well before the Novi was build. Also our Airport Shuttles, offering the best service if you flying in. Thank you for pointing out our customer service and we are very happy that you felt home away from home! See you back soon! Kind regards Axel

We stayed in a deluxe room on the first floor. Although it wasn't anything fantastic it was clean comfortable and quiet. There was plenty of hot water and great air conditioning. The room is self contained with a 4 burner hot plate and a large refrigerator, everything you need for your stay. The outside area is excellent for get togethers and BQ's.The evening shuttle service drop off and pick up to the town restaurants is an excellent service. If you stay at the resort you will need a car as it is not close enough to the town to walk. You can hire snorkelling gear, esky etc from the reception. for a reasonable fee.The staff are friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Make sure you take your own beach towels, the resort does not supply them.

Room Tip: Ask for a room upstairs

Thank you for your review. 2 things I would like to clarify, we do provide beach towels from reception and the studios have a 2 burner ceramic top. Thanks for highlighting the need of a car. In our opinion and experience, you will need a car no matter where you stay in Exmouth! If you choose not to have your own transport, you will miss out on so much and pay a lot more at the end. Cya back soon in sunny Exmouth!

Thank you for your nice words and we thank you for that! You are most welcome to come back rather sooner then later! I think you hit the nail on the head. It is a caring place, clean, functional and friendly. But from the outside it is unique and not the usual holiday place, that is for sure!
See you soon and Mate, bring some friends next time! ;-)))
