Went out for 3 days with Captain Josh in the new 40ft O'Brien "On Strike II after having spent time in the 30ft Fury "On Strike" last January and October.
Captain Josh knows the waters around Exmouth intimately and is up to date on where the fish are and what they are biting on. Both boats are fantastic fishing platforms, the O'Brien is very comfortable for non Fishers and handles any swell with comfort. The gear on board is all top shelf, Tiagra reels, Carbon Fibre Rods, brand new braid and the right lures for the job.
In 3 days we picked up Spanish Mackerel on poppers and lures, Wahoo, Trevally, Tuna , Dolphin Fish, Sailfish and a massive Blue Marlin. Josh will always put you on the Fish and then it is up to you!
The beauty of fishing Exmouth with Josh and Chris is that there are different species to target and they will happily target one type or several to give you the best chance to catch a fish. We have targeted sports fish such as Sailfish and Marlin with Josh and knowing full well that you need to put in the time on the water have never been disappointed.

I have had days where the fish were fickle but never went on shore without a fish or two and an awesome experience out in the Blue water. Whales, Whale Sharks, Turtles, Spinner Dolphins all make the day a spectacle. Lunch and snacks are fresh and healthy and plenty of water on board to keep up with hydration.

We targeted a variety of fish and were mostly successful, especially a couple of lovely yellowfin tuna. josh was helpful and always active looking for the fish. An excellent lunch and good stories rounded the day out perfectly.

An exclusive gamefishing charter booked for my husband (and I tagged along) as part of a special anniversary trip. Great boat and equipment, great food and friendly skipper...disappointed though, as we expected to bring in more than a Wahoo, a striped Tuna and a dolphin fish, which was lost at the boat, for a days outing. Mal was after Marlin and Sailfish. After the skipper radioed other boats we learned not far from us Marlin and Sailfish were being landed, it was also the Junior Billfish Tournament that weekend and the kids were bringing them in too.
We expected Josh, the owner and the man with the reputation to be taking us out but the day before, apparently Josh had taken a group out without a deckie and broke his hand bringing in a large Marlin. Really sorry to hear about this injury Josh but can't help think that our charter was limited due perhaps to the change in skipper. I went by recommendations and reputation and sealed the decision to go with you guys after speaking with Jai on the phone who assured me we wouldn't be disappointed having an exclusive charter.
My husband explained that sometimes there is a fine line between producing the goods and not - after this trip it means a sailfish is still on the bucketlist...so guess we will be back in Exmouth sometime!!!
