“Great Fun”

Ningaloo Pearls Diving
Reviewed 16 October 2013

Went out on my first deep sea fishing charter off Exmouth last week and it was great fun! Totally addicted to fishing where others load up the reel, put on the bait and you just have to throw the line into the water. Then the fish get gutted and filleted, ready for you to cook that night! Terry Maxwell with 37years experience, and his crew of Debbie and Amanda were welcoming and helpful with the fishing tips! We also spotted manta rays, whales, sea snakes and sea turtles and dipped into the waters off the Muiron Islands north of Exmouth. I would recommend Terry's fishing charter!

Went to exmouth with my partner with high expectations to get onto a fishing charter and clean up and catch a decent sized fish..or even a fish for that matter as we are both very keen fisher people.Got onto a fishing charter, Ningaloo Pearls...also known as 'Osso Blue' run by Terry Maxwell. Phoned Terry a few days prior to going to exmouth to get onto his charter. Absolute gentleman on the phone...was told all we had to bring on the boat was hat, sunscreen and grog if we wanted. Everything was catered for etc. Come fishing day they were 45min late picking us up. Happily took our money - $260 each and put us on the boat. From here on in it was beyond a joke!! Trallwed for bout 2 hours with no action and a whole lot of rubbish talk from the two unprofessional female 'deck hands'. Terry then brings out morning tea which I might add is to cover for 6 adults (not inc the 2 deckies and himself), 1 small lot of jatz biccies, dip, a few poor pieces of brocoli cauliflower and carrot that wouldn't even fill up a 2yr old for snack - which the skipper and deckies all but ate the lot!! Come fishing time, what a bloody joke!!! Tried one spot, 50mtr deep and were given poxy 2ounce sinkers to fish with. Asked for heavier sinkers as the current was just taken the line and got given a hard time about it from the deckies who apparently knew everything. No fish were.caught in this so called 'spot' as noone could tell if they had their sinker on the bottom or not. No help from skipper or the deckies who just sat back and watched everyone in frustration. When the skipper was ready he decided to change spots. Same deal with the next spot. All fishing equipment was from the bloody 80's and all rusted which were no use to ANYONE!! Terry bought out lunch for everyone _ fruit bread he had made at home cos his too much of a tight [--] to go by a loaf of bread from iga!! You were only allowed ONE slice of bread per person and he bought SPAM to put on the 'bread'. No water was provided at all either. From the two or three poxy fish that were some how caught, Terry 'filleted' them at the boat ramp for everyone. While he was doing this a swarm of blow flies decided to make themselves at home on the fish which didn't bother Terry at all. He still filleted and bagged the fish WITH THE BLOW FLIES IN THE BAG and handed them to us. All in all this guy is an absolute joke and a complete rip off. Extremely upset and disappointed with this so called charter. If you wanna 'feed fish' then by all means call Terry Maxwell. He will be more than happy to rip you off and give you the worse day 'fishing' possible!! All I can say was it was one bloody expensive slice of bread!!!
