“Beautiful hotel- very family friendly”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit and a 1 bedroom with jacuzzi bath. Both units were beautifully furnished. In the 2 bedroom unit, there was ample room for everyone and as the veranda opened out onto a little rose garden, the children had a marvellous time running and working out their extra energy while the adults had a drink and relaxed.

The apartment was fully furnished and if you were inclined to cook, you could purchase some supplies from the supermarket 10 min drive away or the little shop at the end of the carpark. The heritage hotel next door was a real treat to visit and we ate dinner at the very lovely restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the children are still clamouring for a return visit.

My partner and I have stayed at Seashells Yallingup many times now and we have never had anything to complain about. The rooms are spotless, the kitchen area is fully equipped and the balconies are spacious with beautiful views of the well maintained gardens, perfect to have a glass of wine in the evening, watching the sunset.

It is so nice to be greeted by such friendly staff who genuinely want to help you in any way they can. On one visit we had an issue with our fridge and a maintenance man came round and replaced our fridge at 7pm!! Even he was happy to help and a pleasure to talk to! Nothing is too much or too hard for the staff. I cant praise them enough. I would recommend this place to anyone, couples, families and friends. Seashells Yallingup caters for everyone!

It is my little home away from home and I look forward to returning in the near future =)

We are a family of 4, we have 4yr old twin girls and stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. We have stayed here several times now, and we have absolutely cherished every moment. We regularly visit the SW and have since we were young. We have stayed in several resorts, hotels, B&Bs, houses, etc, and we keep coming back here! Plenty of positives - The outlook is so relaxing, gorgeous gardens and sunsets, the gardens are nothing short of magnificent - there's nothing else like it - rolling greens, plenty of walking tracks, short walk to beach, and adventure playground/caves, plenty of places for kids to run and play. Caves House is charming, I have fond memories of many a sunday session here pre-seashells days with thousands of people! Things have definitely changed and settled down. I take my hat off to Caves for their kid-friendly activities, easter egg hunts, animal farms, jumpy castles, the twilight cinema was awesome, we loved it all! The restaurant caters for kids well, allowing parents to relax with a wine/beer listening to various local artists whilst the kids play alongside. Great atmosphere! The food is ok, nothing spectacular, but a good selection and its better than your typical pub grub. You can also enjoy the music from the comfort of your own private balcony at Seashells. The accommodation itself is varied, top floors have treetop views, no ocean views though, lifts to help your luggage, 2nd floor similar, 1st floor, our personal fav, immediate level access to carpark, yet still elevated (as grounds are sloped), although the interconnecting doors for the two bedroom apt are heavy and annoying, we constantly worried about our kids locking themselves in/out. Ground floor..we stayed this time..wont again though if we can help it. Two flights of bricked stairs down to room, fun with luggage! We were convinced by staff that it was "better" with "a bigger balcony, and immediate access to grass"..that is if you're prepared to straddle the fencing and jump on over..wouldve been great if the ground floor had "immediate access"..at least gate access!. The balcony is one long balcony, with a proper dining table, its not segregated like the above floors. You hear everything above you though, and we had an active wasp nest on the pillar so had to be careful. In all honesty, Its not nearly as private as the above floors, we were conscious of everyone walking past and peering in! We had BBQs and enjoyed watching the sun set as the kids played on the grass. As a plus, there is no interconnecting doors, the main door has balcony access, which made us nervous as you couldnt securely lock from the inside, kids just pull the handle door auto unlocks and walk out.. The bedrooms are private, one with a tv, lounge tv, movies showing throughout the day, two ensuites, one with an under shower spa bath, relatively comfy beds, although bedding was clean, im not a fan of the uncovered loose sheet only quilt! They need to get proper quilt covers! Our fridge needs attention..nothing stayed cold due to faulty fridge seal. If you are not staying a minimum 6 nights and therefore not serviced mid stay, you may need to pack some dishwasher detergent, toilet rolls and be prepared to wash your towels! We didnt mind trying something different, re level, as you never know, and ultimately we did enjoy our comfy stay, but anyone booking needs to be aware that its very important to specify exactly which room you want, and then you may still miss out with Seashells apparent "first in best dressed" policy. I commend Seashells for being helpful, mostly accommodating, and especially for doing deals though Easter, pay three, stay 4, when every other location is doubling and tripling their prices. I think young couples will love the location, with the vibe of Caves, mature people will appreciate the relaxing environment, glorious gardens, but maybe not so keen on bands playing, so recommend to opt for further from Caves House, to me, this location is perfect for families, and you are guaranteed to feel rejuvenated after your stay! One thing is for sure..there is something for everyone here and despite a few minor negatives in our latest stay, we always end up extending our stay!!

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment as there were four of us. Really well set up in that although we shared a front door each couple had their own privacy with separate rooms. Wonderful set up with full kitchen and laundry, plus sitting area and balconies. Beautiful grounds and the outdoor movie was a bonus. Spent the evening in the adjacent bar, sitting outside listening to the entertainment very relaxing. Would highly recommend this hotel, perfect for couples and families alike

Still a charmer. I am impressed by how well the property I maintained- the rooms feel as if they have been recently painted and recarpeted. Spotless. The staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed for six nights and would have stayed longer buy they were fully booked! The kitchen is well equipped for preparing a meal, the laundry is so convenient, and there is plenty of room to spread out. Comfy beds and large bathroom. The outdoor balcony is perfect for a morning coffee or glass of wine in the avo. If you don't feel like cooking or driving, you can stroll over to the Caves House for a meal. There is also a cute general store to buy a few provisions, or have breakfast or get a sandwhich.
It's a pleasant walk down to the beach, or you can meander through the gardens. I love this spot. Special nod to Chelsea for everything.

Room Tip: I think any of the rooms are nice. We have stayed on each level and all have their own advantages. I...

Stayed in a 1-br apartment which was well appointed and very spacious. Has a well equipped kitchen. All apartments have a balcony overlooking the Caves House gardens. The studio rooms are a bit small. The deluxe 1-bf apartments are larger than the standard ones.
Location is perfect with Caves House, a historic pub and hotel, at your doorstep. It offers lots of food, drinks and entertainment options. During the summer months they have an outdoor cinema and lots of live acts on the outdoor stage. The Caves House gardens are fantastic.
Yallingup beach is only a 10-15 minute comfortable walk away via the "ghost trail". The beach is fantastic.
Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it for those who enjoy the best of what Margaret River has to offer. Caves road and all the famous wineries is very close.

Room Tip: Rooms further from Caves House are quieter

Dear Sway_and_Rhi,

Thank you for writing this review and your recommendation. The location of the property is certainly a feature of the property, so close to all the wineries and attraction on Caves road but still just a short walk from the beach & next to the historic Caves House. I am looking forward to welcoming you back to the hotel again soon.

The one bedroom apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. It came with all kitchen and laundry facilities. It was a very good stay better than in a 5 star hotel. It was close to yallingup beach and canal rocks.
