My fiancé and I were lucky enough to win a weekend at Cape Lodge in one of their garden view rooms. Grounds are beautiful. Easy checking in and staff are very friendly. Rooms were immaculate as expected. Huge comfy bed, great bathroom with all the essentials. We had a lovely 5 course dinner from the chefs menu, and I have to say each course was pretty perfect. Staff again are very attentive. Restaurant and bar looks over the garden lake and has a wonderful chilled out atmosphere, finishing our wine by the log fire topped it off nicely! Breakfast both mornings were great. Continental selection and hot breakfast made to order. All in all I couldn't fault our stay at Cape Lodge. A little pricey but it's worth it for that extra bit of luxury!

Stayed two nights and really enjoyed the peace and serenity of the place. Lots of birdlife and a few rabbits to be seen in the native gardens and room for a stroll around the property to walk off the meal. Restaurant service and views over the dam are outstanding, gourmet breakfast was delicious. Room was comfortable with the luxury of underfloor heating and first rate products in the bathroom. Our rate included a wine tasting but no advice from CL staff on how or where to access this, so sadly we didn't get to enjoy any of the wines. Good wifi connection if you really must have it. $700+ for two nights, this is somewhere nice to take that special person in your life.

We stayed for two lovely nights at the Cape Lodge ‘The Residence’, which is their separate standalone lodge with five bedrooms. In the main house there are two bedrooms downstairs with a shared bathroom and upstairs there is the master bedroom with en suite and large walk in wardrobe. The property also has a separate guest house with two bedrooms and single bathroom. It has a full laundry room downstairs plus separate study. The whole house was clean and in good condition

This was a bit large and decadent for two adults and two children, but we enjoyed it nevertheless.

The furniture is understated but suits the environment. The main downstairs living area is open plan, containing lounge, kitchen and dining table. The kitchen was excellent and well stocked with utensils for cooking. On the side of the main house, but covered, there is an excellent BBQ area with a gas BBQ. We made use of this one night. We ended the night by lighting the open fire in the lounge that was set by the staff. Lovely way to relax on a chilly night.

WiFi throughout the house was sufficient for our requirements and there were some games and outdoor sports equipment provided.
Outside The Residence has private grounds including a putting green and small lake and a three car garage.

My partner joined the nightly wine tasting at the bar and we all ate one night at the onsite restaurant, which was excellent. We were told the menu changes daily depending on supplies of local produce, and this seemed to be the case. The desserts were particularly good. When we asked for a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu the staff obliged and provided one of the best examples we have had.

We didn’t have that much interaction with the staff at the resort, but those we did were helpful and friendly. It may be lacking small little details we expect at other 5-star resorts; coffee machine, iPod docking, satellite TV, but these are minor, overall it’s an excellent base for exploring the Margaret River wine country.

We are already planning a return visit to the Cape Lodge Residence, but planning on bringing a larger family group next time.

Our stay at Cape Lodge was perfect in every way. The staff were wonderful and extremely pleasant and helpful in every way. The food was divine. Breakfast was amazing each morning looking out onto the dam watching the ducklings swim around added to the perfect start each morning. Dinner was delicious using local produce and wines. After dinner by the open fire relaxing with a after dinner drink. The grounds were so peaceful filled with the laughter of birds and our room was perfect with the most perfect view overlooking the beautiful gardens. I cannot wait to visit again.

Just returned from a 4 day stay. Excellent Winter offer - Upgraded to a Suite with breakfast and 2 dinners for a couple. Great value package. Superb property - with lake views. Tranquil and serene, perfect for rejuvenating and relaxing. Spacious room and excellent location on Cave Road - alongside the famed wineries of Margaret River.

Restaurant here is Michelin Star Quality. Exquisite breakfasts and innovative dinners ~ local produce, sophisticated technique. A must visit. Impeccable service!

Only 1 criticism : The bathroom. Its built seamlessly into the room ( without doors) but it's very basic and should be more self contained with a separate showerroom ( instead of having to step into the bath and the toilet is claustrophobic. More space needed here!

Room Tip: All the rooms are good but face different parts of the property. Spa Suites directly face the lakes.
