“Great place to go for a nice relaxing weekend :-)”
Reviewed 9 March 2014 via mobile

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights and we loved it. Very peaceful and relaxing. We like that we could walk down to the brewery and have a few drinks, and then come back and chill out in the hot tub. We also had some treatments in the day spa which were amazing, would highly recommend going there. We would defiantly go back and stay there again :-)

My husband & I found this forest oasis on the Internet and have been delighted by the comfortable room with courtyard spa, cozy lounge with amazing open fireplace and most of all by the friendly family who own & operate the lodge and look after your every need. Yoga classes, facials and couples massages were marvelous and rejuvenating. Many special touches made our stay relaxing and we were able to unwind easily! Thank you Jenny!

We have just had 3 nights at the yallingup spa retreat We stayed in the verdello room and it met all our expectations, we woke every morning to the sun shinning through the treetops. The breakfast hamper was delicious and there was plenty supplied plus extras if you wished. The lounge was comfy, the log fire beautiful and to round it off a good selection of vinyls. I had a couple of treatments in the spa where the girls were friendly and knowledgable. Our room was perfect and very very comfortable.. The best part of our stay was the warm welcome from all the staff, Jen went out of her way to ensure that our stay was special, from drawing our spa everyday to offering expert knowledge of the area. By the end of our stay we felt like we'd gained some friends. We,ll defiantly be back. Thanks guys

We stayed here last weekend, as a romantic weekend getaway. I had already read some of the reviews so was a little concerned about the quality of the rooms.

We stayed in the Semillion room, which was very nicely fitted out. The linen was top quality, and towels were thick and very clean, bed was very comfortable.

It is under new management and they are doing things to upgrade the bathrooms and some of the external looks of the lodge.

it is important to note that it is a LODGE, and you are in rooms that are right next to each other.. we had a very noisy cougher next to us for the whole 2 days..the walls were thin, we could hear everything going on in their room, so having a nice private conversation (read between the lines) was near impossible.

They only have 5 rooms, so you know you won't be crowded.

But if you are going down here and you want a room for say a night, than you can't go pass this, but if you want some private time together, probably look at other options in the area.

Breakfast and outdoor breakfast area we found really nice and relaxing, and the lounge area they have for the guests is really lovely.

Owners were very friendly and accommodating..

Would stay here again, if going for a wedding or spending time traveling around the area.

Room Tip: I don't think it matters which room in the end, some are bigger than others, depending on what y...

I’ve Stayed at Yallingup Spa retreat twice with my partner and once with a girlfriend. We'll go back in a heartbeat! With OM Day spa, large pool, outdoor yoga classes under peppermint trees, boutique brewery and art gallery just down the drive way, 4WD track to the beach and its location being close to Dunsborough and prime surrounding attractions, I found it to be a tranquil and calm place with excitement on its door step and did I mention pampering!
The bed was so comfy with high quality soft sheets with massive pillows two heads can share! No A/C in the room but the ceiling fan above the bed was adequate to sleep soundly plus the pool was a perfect cool off. The communal lounge room has a calm & romantic ambience with its tasteful décor, great collection of books, DVD's (watch in your room) CD's, vinyls and a guitar. I was impressed to find Pendulum on vinyl, and the most elegant CD player I've ever seen. Breakfast hamper was yummy, and with more breaky type food in the fridge, was hard to go hungry in the morning! Mmm Bacon sizzling on the BBQ.

At OM day spa I had an Oxygen Facial which I highly recommend! It was delicious! It was tailored to my skin sign specified through a questionnaire and an essential oil smell test. I was earth that day. It dramatically reduced a small scar on my face and re-hydrated my often dry. My skin was so plump, clean and hydrated you could see it in my skin – radiant! My friend commented that my skin was glowing afterwards. This facial is better than Botox! Believe it! Just don’t do what I did and ride a motorbike in the summer sun without sunscreen after this facial as I got a bit burnt - listen to the beautician’s advice!! - To stay out of the sun as your skin is in a pure state after this facial. And slip slop slap in general! I also had a firm relaxation massage at OM which was BLISS! I was Zen’d out for a while afterwards.
Yoga class was sublime and stimulating, a small intimate class with highly knowledgeable and encouraging instructor. It’s by far the most enjoyable, fun, informative and strong yoga class I’ve been to; we had a good laugh with each other. All in all Yallingup lodge spa retreat and OM day spa is a peaceful place with variety of services available on site & adventures to be had in the surrounding areas. Cape shuttle bus from the brewery was very convenient! Considering the ginger beers are so enjoyable!

Room Tip: The treetop rooms have nespresso machines and give you the chance to spot possums and/or kangaroos.

My husband and I stayed booked for 3 nights for our 25th anniversary and were very disappointed. We booked a package which had $300 of spa treatments and the total was over $1300 - so you can imagine we thought we would be having some luxury. Spa was very nice and treatments were good. Room was large but very dated. Understand that renovations are continuing under new ownership but they need to reduce prices until Lodge is brought up to the standard expected for the price charging now.
Bathroom is perfect if we were living in 1960s, cracked toilet, tiles coming off wall, no tissues provided, tatty bathrobes provided.
Constant noise from the hot water system pump/heater under the floorboards that disturbs the quiet bushland setting - no fun trying to sleep either.
TV too small and only has 2 channels. Wiring for that should be hidden to make room appearance better.
WiFi reception was intermittent depending on where in the room you were.
Breakfast hamper adequate but could be better. Cutlery is cheapest you could find. No cooked breakfast.
No air conditioner - we had really hot nights and only overhead fan and portable fan provided.
Hot water kettle is in wardrobe (where we hang clothes and obviously get a steaming when the kettle boils.
Windows jamming.
No cushions on balcony chairs.
Spa/jacuzzi on balcony is dated and in need of a scrub.
No safe provided in room.
Reception Staff very friendly and helpful but poorly dressed (thongs).
Things that were listed on the Room Amenities list were not there. Website needs updating to reflect this.
Plumbing for jacuzzi very dodgy - although the little birds love bathing in the water which runs down the hill outside the rooms, when emptying the tub

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from hot water system under lodge - the best room was not the best room because...

Dear Susan,

This is very disappointing to read that you did not find your spa suite adequate for your anniversary. Just to clarify that your $1300 package you booked you received $350.00 worth of spa treatments which you had enjoyed according to feedback from your therapist. This then leaves around $300.00 per night for your suite which had a treetop view and an outdoor Jacuzzi. These spas are cleaned every day by our housekeeping staff and including throughout your stay with an Eco friendly spa specific biocide. I would say it would be hard to find a suite of that size with a private 4 person Jacuzzi overlooking the treetops for under $300.00 per night in summer and on the weekend of Leeuwin concert as we do not increase prices for regional events.

The soft renovations for the suites has begun and major bathroom renovations planned. As for amenities you are provided with high quality in room amenities including a nespresso machine, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, locally produced cold pressed soaps, bubble bath for your jacuzzi, tealight candles, tea, coffee, sugar and high quality linens. As for the hot water system work has begun on installing a new more eco friendly system which would not have the noise of the old system. The TV in your suite has an in built dvd player with complimentary DVD's and a iphone/ ipod docking station to listen to music while in the spa, we have taken this point on board. The complimentary WIFI in your suite we tested the bar signal and is three bars and is available to guests for no charge.

As for not having everything listed from the website I have copied the list from the website below
Room Amenity
Closet
Alarm Clock - in side cabinet for those that wish to wake up at a particular time
Balcony
Bathrobe Provided
Bathroom Amenities Provided
Bathroom and Ensuite
Bathtub - Jazucci tub

Hair Dryer in room
Lanai (Terrace or Veranda)
Minibar in room
Movies in room
Newspaper Provided
Radio in room
Refrigerator in room
Remote Control TV in room
Shower Stall
Smoke Detector
DVD Player
Walk In Wardrobe
there are also tissues in your room which are not listed above.

Everything is in this list was included in your suite apart from the Newspaper as we provide that in the guest lounge area and newspapers are available in room to order.

In response to the spa plumbing system:
The plumbing for the spa empties the water back into the bush land in the nearby area as the retreat has a very mindful approach to water usage and saving.
The plumbing itself i.e piping and spa plumbing is all brand new to reduce waste all of the spas plumbing works and also do the jets.

In regards to our friendly staff and shoe attire - It's unfortunate that the staff shoe attire bothers you and please excuse this as the Day Spa has a no shoe policy for hygiene purposes for the treatment rooms so when staff have a treatment and work between the two buildings they are required to wear a slip on and slip off shoe. The maintenance and directors certainly do not wear thongs while at the retreat. Also to mention that our staff are here to make a stay more enjoyable and in your case staff went willingly above and beyond after hours to assist you. Being a busy weekend in the region they called around all the restaurants to find you both tables for your lunches and dinners throughout the weekend.

Just to clarify that we do not advertise cooked breakfast as we are boutique retreat and a chef is not feasible we do however provide complimentary croissants, fresh ham and cheese, bread, bacon, cereals, coffee tea, fresh orange juice, yogurt and fruit. This is complimentary to guests upon staying at the retreat.

Our staff are open and approachable to any questions, queries or suggestions our guests may have and we are here throughout your stay to help understand or find anything you need. Our new website with up to date photos is going live this weekend explaining the type of accommodation that the retreat is - spa suites with high end spa services, yoga classes and a unique setting close by to great wineries, restaurants and breweries.

Kind Regards,

Stayed for 1 night, bathroom pretty dated but room cosy and eartherapy products nice - the breakfast hamper could use some plunger coffee given the price per night and a heads up about half of the hamper food being in the fridge. The communal lounge with fireplace and scented candles in hallways was a nice touch
