We arrived here early afternoon, planning a soak in the pools on a cold July day. When we were asked if we were staying the night (finding out our Motorhome company had a very reasonable deal). .. a quick shop out of the way and we were back for a very very relaxed afternoon. .. cocktails are available, as well as snacks. Lovely orange infused water freely available by each pool. There is a strong local presence and happy conversations were evident all afternoon. The grounds are just beautiful, yes as someone mentioned in a previous post, the grounds are enhanced with some embellisment... but overall it was one of the nicest experiences we had in hot pools. We freedom camped in the grounds as part of the agreement ...feeling very lucky

It is great to hear that you took advantage of a deal organized by Euro Campers, They have taken their camping experience to the next level.
The local presence here at The Lost Spring is defiantly popular, with a Supersoaker card being purchased monthly here at The Lost Spring.

Every time that we go to the Lost Spring, we immediately relax and wind down.
The service starts with a welcoming smile at the front desk and the pleasure continues through to the pools and treatment facilities.
This is one attraction that I am happy to recommend to anyone. Visit and your day will brighten up.

This spa was recommended by the I information Center as a must to do and they were right. We took the smaller package $40 each (1.5 hour in the pools) and then had an amazing meal with the best Mango margarita. The hot spring pools are just filled with such nice soft warm to hot water and it is set in a tropical setting that will make you want to just escape.

We called into the hotsprings by chance while visiting the area and where stunned by first appearances. Arriving half hour before dining hours ended we where told by the reception yes we could dine and then no we couldnt, the lady in her late 50's on reception was a little lacking as a hostess making us feel a bit concerned but the night lite appearane of the spa and dining area made us book for.the following evening still excited that it could be a good experience..we chose a dip and dine combo.
The next day arriving in daylight the allure was quickly undone and in time we could do no more than giggle to each other that at best it was a unwise choice of destination but a different experience all the same. The same lady at reception is seriously lacking in service skills, she gave littlle if any direction through the visit and at times we felt unsure where we should be, especially when directed to our dining area which was accessed upstairs outside- eventually after looking confused direction was offered but to little and to late with again no service skillss..we witnessed a very odd interaction she had with another couple as well, she definitly does not fuel the illusion of being paampered or feeling special. The pools had some work being done with scaffolding around but that aside the whole set up feels like a cheap fraggle rock set, daylight is not kind and the cave full of glued in gem stones, the polystyrene/concrete structures made us feel like we where on a cheep tacky kids theme park. We stayed for the whole visit and must say the food was the one exception, we where very impressed with the broccoli/kale salad with seseme seeds and the steak where a 8/10... still at the end of the day I could imgine half blind elderly people thinking it was special but I would not recomend visiting for anything other than the food to anyone with fully functioning sight or any expectation of pleasant service, or at least if you do go make sure its after dark.

And I mean paradise :) I'm currently writing this review while sitting pool side sipping on a beverage. Inhaling the fresh air, Taking in the beautiful scene and listening to the sound of nature and island drums playing in the background.
This is a fantastic place to visit to unwind and relax. The grotto pools and scene are so very impressive! They also offer a delish selection of food at the restaurant or you can drink and eat pool side! The rates can be on the slightly higher side. But we managed to get a good deal today.
I'm coming back tomorrow :)

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our Tripadvisor page.

It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your time here with us, and the fact that you where posting while in our pools is just amazing!
Our design and concept was to bring a tropical paradise to Whitianga, and the owner Alan Hopping has done this.
The aim was to bring magic back into adult lives, and we think we have just about hit the nail on the head.
To be able to order food and drink poolside is a one and only within New Zealand. We offer a 90min pool pass and an All Day pool pass, along with a variety of packages, so there is something for everyone.

We hope to see you again in the near future, The Lost Spring Team.
