Mercury Bay Holiday Park

We have stayed several times at Mercury Bay Holiday Park. We love it for its location, we can walk to town, a bakery down the road as well as a garage. Close to the boat ramp etc.

The camp is always so clean and the tent sites are massive so you are not bumper to bumper with your neighbours like in Top 10 Holiday Parks. We can also fit our boat, tent and gazebo on our tentsite.

The staff are always helpful and keep a close eye on the goings on in the camp so standards are kept very high.

Cant wait to go back at the end of January.

This was our first camping experience and we just loved it. The facilities were clean even my kids who have an aversion to public toilets (which is why we were very nervous about camping) commented on how clean the toilets were and how they smelled nice especially after the cleaners have been. The hosts were so lovely and warm and make us want to go back again soon. Our kids made friends - a great family atmosphere. we highly recommend it.

We stayed here during our camper van tour of NZ. The site is ideally located an easy walk from the town. Facilities (shower/toilet block) were all nice and clean and the staff were helpful. Powered pitches for camper vans are really spacious and there are communal barbecues etc. Would stay again.

Us and a group of friends spent the weekend at Mercury Bay Holiday Park during a Hot Rod event. We were already impressed that they had emailed us all ahead and advised us of their preparations for us and our hot rods (including car wash and special parking). We arrived and were greeted with warm smiles and great hospitality. The campground is beautifully landscaped, clean and tidy. The owners are obviously very proud of their Park. We couldn't fault anything about our stay (we stayed in a two bedroom cabin) and would recommend this Park to anyone, whether camping or cabins. We will return definitely!

Room Tip: The studio cabin (no actual bedroom) where our friends stayed would be our pick next time!

This camping ground is one of those secret gems. It is unbelievably so close to town ( walking distance of 400m) yet you feel like your miles away when it comes to peace and quiet. The grounds are well cared for and amenities are excellent. Camp managers are extremely friendly and obliging especially when it came to accomodating our overly large american RV. While we stayed in the RV, the camp ground also had a large selection of motel/ cabins that look excellent value. we look forward to returning to Mercury Bay Campground and would reccomend it to all
