We used to go to Blonde before the chef apparently changed in September last year. It use to be good, and so we were looking forward to our dinner on Friday night. What a let-down! The disinterested waitress didn't know what the fish of the day was and completely forgot one of our drinks orders. When the food arrived I was very lucky, I chose the steak and scored the only decent meal at the table. The Thai Seafood Salad turned out to be a thick, yellow pasta dish, the duck looked like road-kill and was too dry to eat, and the stone-grill pork was just bland - like its main purpose was to save the chef a bit of work.
The waitress never came back to ask how our meals were and the girl on the counter was too busy talking to take any notice when we went up to pay, so we didn't even get a chance to give feedback. It's a shame, we always had it on our list to eat there in Whitianga, but we will NEVER be back. Awful.
