Great place for a group to eat. Nice courtyard. Food is good and location in the middle of town makes a table outside on a Saturday a good place to people watch.

came here for a gathering with the mates. had awesome cocktails and the food was fantastic. favorite items on the menu were the chicken strips and the pork spare ribs! the courtyard out the back looks and feels so cozy and warm in the afternoon sun. great music too, i absolutely reccomend this place for families and groups of friends :) Thanks staff of Tuatua for making my experience the best in Whitianga!

I am fortunate enough to live locally and absolutely love tua tua. The service is always friendly and environment comfortable and warm. The food is never disappointing but my weekend ritual is always a coffee and muffin after a walk along the beach – absolute heaven! Keep it up guys

Had a takeaway margherita pizza here. Good size and okay price but spoiled by being drowned in cheese. The tomato sauce base was nice and they actually used real basil leaves (not the dried crap you get from some restaurants)...but we had to get rid of half the cheese to savour those other flavours. You get the picture...

We went to Tuatua for dinner while we were staying in Whitianga for the night enroute to Hot water beach. This was our second choice when another restaurant we wanted to go to was full. We sat in the sheltered and covered courtyard located at the side of the restaurant. It was quiet and warm enough (summer) and enjoyed the pleasant and cosy atmosphere. The food was average. My husband order bbq ribs which was a little overcooked and slightly burnt. All the portions were comparatively small for the price we had to pay .
The only consolation of our experience was that the waitress was very cheerful and helpful.
