First of all the name "tandoori at Transit" is a little misleading. This place is called Tandoori's Royal. We decided to check this restaurant out as we found a deal on Amazon where you get $30 worth of food for $15. When we made reservations on the phone they we very nice and accommodating. Once we arrived we were greeted by the owner and directed to wait at the bar while our table was prepared. Once the table was ready (which was quite fast) we were seated and the server insisted on bringing our drinks over from the bar for us which was a nice touch. We ordered a sampler plate for starters and the chili paneer. These were great and the samosa's were amazing! The chili paneer was really good too. Then for mains we ordered the Tandoori chicken and aloo palak (veg curry) and both were perfectly prepared and had a lot of nice authentic flavors. The tandoori chicken was served on a sizzling hot plate which was also a nice touch. Finally at the end of the meal they brought my girlfriend a single red rose which she absolutely loved! I can't say enough good things about this place and I'm looking forward to returning soon!

I had tried the lunch buffet at Tandoori's on several occasions, and I felt that it was not exceptional. Some friends convinced me to go back to try the dinner menu. What a difference! While the lunch buffet was only average, the dinner entrees were outstanding! The dinner menu includes several different types of rice and several choices for breads. My friends and I tried seafood, lamb, and chicken entrees and enjoyed all of them. Our server was knowledgable and attentive. I would recommend Tandoori's for dinner.

Visiting Buffalo in what feels like the middle of winter, albeit March, is hard to imagine. We did so to celebrate the birth of our first grandson as did our in-laws. We found a very warm welcome at Tandoori. The dining room was beautifully decorated, the menu was extensive and the service could not have been better. The waiter was very attentive answering all our inquiries not only with patience but with good humor. His recommedations for those of us unfamiliar with Indian food was excellent. When we first sat down we were brought a basket of yummy flat breads and two different dipping sauces. When we finished the main meal, the waiter brought each of us a bowl with warm water and rose petals with which to wash up. The serving sizes were enormous, unless sharing, don't order the large tandoori chicken, it is really big enough for two or three. That said, the prices were incredibly reasonable. enjoy!!

If you want to try Indian Food the way to go is a Lunch Buffet. This way you can try several different dishes for one low price (around $10) as opposed to Dinner where the prices are higher and you order A la catre. The Best Indian Lunch Buffet in Western New York is Tandoori. While other Buffets have smaller selections that are many times picked over and not refilled, Tandoori Serves their food in Large Copper Kettles that are always kept Full. Their selection and quality of food is far superior to their competition, Their Buffet Choices Change Daily. They have great sauces, Chicken, Lamb, Goat as well as many Vegetarian dishes, My favorite dish is Mutter Paneer (Homemade Cheese and peas in a rich creamy sauce) The problem with most Buffets is consistency. I have been eating at Tandoori for many many years and their Buffet is always consistently Great.

This is one of the best treats in the Buffalo area. If you like Indian cusine you will enjoy the buffet setup with everything from tandoor chicken to curry goat. Begin with a fruit salad, then some dumplings with different dips and then get a plate of rice with vegitables and curry shrimp. If you still have room try the cheese and spinach with some tandoor chicken. Mmmm
The service is excellent your water glass is never empty and the nam (bread) is great for slopping up the plate. After the meal a finger bowl with rose petal and fennel and coconut are provided to freshen your hands and breath. A great dining experience for just over $20 per person. Served from noon until 3 PM. Enjoy! They also have catering and a great hall for special occasions.
