Going for a fish fry? Well, look no farther than the Glen Park Tavern on Main Street in Williamsville. We spent a delightful 2 hours last Friday eating delicious food. For less than $15.00, you get a HUGE delicious piece of fish along with different choices for sides, including vegetables, potatoes (your choice of baked, sweet or regular fries), cole slaw, salad, and fresh bread. If you are trying to watch your calories, order the asiago crusted white fish for about the same price and you won't be disappointed. Fresh, flaky, and flavorful fish...one of the best I've had in this area. I had an extra portion of assorted fresh vegetables in place of the potatoes...broccoli, green beans, carrots...well prepared. The portions are so big, many people take home leftovers, including me. My re-heated fish and vegetables were also good the next day. Service couldn't have been friendlier and efficient. We also shared Sweet Jenny's chocolate chip yogurt for dessert, which is on the menu at the Glen Park. Sweet Jenny's is just across the street. The yogurt was very flavorful...a great ending to a great meal. It will be hard to find a better place for a fish dinner. One suggestion: call for reservations (we did) as this is a small place which, obviously, fills up fast. Another plus: I think this is locally owned so it's nice to support hometown businesses.

Wish I had the option of rating this three and a half. It wasn't quite a four. Saturday night... hungry... didn't realize there was some festival in town. We stumbled into this tavern and managed to snag a table near the bar. I had a glass of so-so wine and the chicken piccata (big portion with a lot of mushrooms and artichokes). Hubby had a soda and a pasta dish with scallops and shrimp. Service was good but a little harried. The bartender/waitress was pleasant but very busy. Bill came to about $75 with tip.

The Glen Park Tavern is located in the heart of Williamsville, NY on Route 5 (Main Street). The beautiful village has changed since I grew up there, new hotels are being built. A great place to go would be the Glen Park. The food selections are so good, lunch includes carved roast beef and turkey. The beef served on Weck rolls or a Kaiser roll. The Crystal Beach Cobb is wonderful, made with fresh crab meat. The Garrison is a tenderloin sandwich on good garlic bread topped with provolone, sauteed onion and mushrooms or spinach and provolone. That's just a few selections on the excellent menu. Sundays may have live music and draws a crowd. They are known for their fish fry, offering a smaller portion as well. Freshly popped popcorn and apps come out for happy hour. A true gem. As to when did we visit.....often, we drive from the Southtowns to enjoy this restaurant.

The food was definitely overpriced and not up to expectations. Fried Chicken wasn't seasoned at all and was overlooked. The house chips were really good but a bit over cooked also. The turkey club was pretty good. They were out of all specials by 8pm on a Wednesday and many of the beers also. It was so noisy we couldn't hear each other across the table. I wouldn't recommend it.
