Owner description: Whiteface may have made its name in winter, it has the highest vertical drop in the east, after all but it does summer pretty well too. The warmer months make Whiteface a natural setting for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels and ages, whether you're looking for an adrenaline rush or just an afternoon of beautiful views with your family. Take a hike along the Stag Brook Falls trail or Bear Den Mountain, play a round of Disc Golf and check out the area's most exhilarating, challenging Mountain Biking terrain. Or gather the family for an afternoon of taking it all in with a Scenic Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride to the summit of Little Whiteface. Drive the Whiteface Veteran's Memorial Highway to the summit, and lean into the Adirondack breeze as you marvel at the world below you. This well-known mountain offers exciting and scenic runs for skiers of all levels: Beginners do well on Easy Acres, which features its own ski school, novices and intermediates enjoy Little Whiteface, while experts head to the heart-pounding summit.

Took our Harley to the top and walked to the summit!! A must do !!
The drive will be better next year as the road is going to be paved from start to finish as it is a lot bumpy now!

“Too early to play”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

Most of the attractions were closed because we got there a week early. Check the dates before you plan your trip.

“Spring Break Skiing in March”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Went to Whiteface for our first ever family ski trip during March spring break. Mtn got 16 inches of snow 3 days before we arrived, so conditions for Whiteface were excellent when we arrived. Very cold...below zero almost every morning before sunrise. But, we survived and had tons of fun. Very friendly and helpful staff...then even gave us a free locker to store all our ski stuff for the whole week. Great place to go on your first ski trip.

Only reason why I did not give it a 5-star rating was because the ski lessons were average and I feel they could have done better with us new guys, and most of the green runs are attached to intermediate or black diamond slopes - so experts intermingle with beginners almost everywhere (very nerve-racking in some locations).

“Scenic drive up a beautiful mountain”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

This was the first time driving up Whiteface Mountain in almost twenty years, and it was just as fun and memorable as when I was younger. The road from Lake Placid towards Wilmington was almost as much of an attraction in itself, with scenic views of the mountain.
Whiteface Memorial Highway was a fun drive up, with spectacular views and plenty of pullover lots. Once at the top, there is either an elevator or stairs up to the summit. The temperature was only a degree or two cooler at the top, compared to the base of the mountain, and it offered awesome views of Lake Placid and the Adirondacks. There were plenty of interpretive signs to let you know what you were looking at in every direction, and a little about the mountain itself.
The drive down was a little more challenging, but once you put your car into low gear, it is a more relaxing experience. If you are in the Adirondack region and want to truly see the Park, a drive up to the summit of Whiteface is a truly fun and memorable trip.

“GREAT!!! So good, that we just bought 3 passes for Winter 2014!”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

Amazing skiing. My family just loved it. I went there to ski when I was younger and now I can enjoy it with my family. We enjoyed it so much that we bought a vacation home in Lake Placid and got ski passes for 2014-2015 already!! We just love Wilmington and Lake Placid. You have to ski at the mountain. The trails are for so many different levels. There are many activities in the summer too.
