I was stopping in and had called early. They seemed courteous enough on the phone. When I arrived the older couple who runs the property were absolutely downright rude. Argued with me in the most unprofessional way. No way was I giving them any business after such terrible customer service. Also the office smells like a mixture of cat pee and mold. Not recommended. My stay at the Copper Kettle down the street was wonderful and I was dealt with professionally and kindly.

CaveMountain, Owner at Cave Mountain Motel, responded to this reviewResponded 29 March 2014

Thank you for an opportunity to respond .There are always two sides to a story. But, Unfortunately,
we are not always able to give it! . We love our guests..99.9% are wonderful. But occasionally
we have one or two that are not happy no matter what. This gentleman was one of them.
He was demanding and quite offensive and a little belligerent. So he was asked to leave.
I'm sorry he felt the need to slander us and our motel by lies and false accusations.

They have a really great ski and stay package here. It made our choice for accommodations in the area pretty easy since it was such a deal. Of note, though, is that you must pay cash for this deal. It's worth it though.

We arrived and were greeted by the owner in the "office" which looks like the living room of their home. Anyway he was nice and had a little bit of a sarcastic sense of humor. We checked in quickly and arrived in our room (1).

It's nothing to be impressed about but it was neat and tidy and comfortable. It's very 80s with wood panel walls and brown shag carpet. It kind of reminded us of grandma's basement or rec room circa 1985. But really we don't care about looks since all we're really doing is sleeping there. The room had two double beds (and I believe this is true for all the rooms). The bed was comfy and the shower and bathroom were clean. The heat is self controlled and worked very well.

The breakfast in the am is nothing special. There's coffee, juice, hot water for tea and milk. We had coffee cakes and pastry assortments both days as well as option to make oatmeal or have cereal (which was at least 7 choices).

Definitely a decent place to stay, especially for price and proximity to the mountain. We'd stay again and recommend it. Just don't expect the Ritz.

We normally aim for slopeside but never seem to make that happen at Windham. We have stayed at Cave Mountain a number of times over the past few years and will continue to do so. The rooms are comfortabe (we are a family of four with two little ones) and the breakfast is good enough to keep everyone happy. The owners are pleasent and are happy to help you out when you need it. It is a great deal so close to the mountain! Cash only at check-out, credit cards are for deposit only.

We have stayed at the Cave Mountain Motel twice. The owners couldn't have been nicer, going out of their way to make us comfortable. We took 5 rooms on our last visit in February 2011. Had a great time, hanging ut with our whole family in the breakfast/lounge area, playing games, etc. We are going back again this year.
