We stayed here last August with a review written under the same user name but on FLIPKEY since the one I had submitted through TripAdvisor seemed to have gotten delayed and eventually deleted after the FLIPKEY review was published.
So we did return again this year to this property which should provide a good indication of our feelings about this property and the wonderful down to earth owner Ella.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay when in the area you should seriously consider this property. It is not a secluded cottage in the middle of nowhere, it is though a fairly quiet location in the small town of Prattsville which is still recovering from the devastation it received from Tropical Storm Irene. The 2010 census data lists the town population as 700, although that was before Irene.
The are a few dinning options in Prattsville, a grocery store and now even a wine and liquor store. There are many outdoor activities to enjoy both in the summer and of course in the winter being located close to three different ski slopes, Windham, Hunter and Belleayre.
The Schoharie Creek which ravaged the town during irene is a very popular place to go cool off in the summer. We really have enjoyed our stays and will be returning.More
