“A gem in Windham area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

We were recently here for the 4th of July weekend and really had a very pleasant 3 night stay. Sarah and Toni are really great hosts and really made you feel at home. They made every effort to ensure that what they served for breakfast met my plant based dietary requirements. The guest fridge is a great convenience and beverage fridge is always well stocked with water and soft drinks. We had a nice time and would definitely be our choice of stay for Windham/ Hunter.

Sarah and Tony are lovely, ready to make you feel at home. The house has very relaxing grounds (hammocks to lay in). The house is clean, rooms are pretty and serene. We have stayed in the third floor sweet in the past and the Delaware this time around. Really liked the Delaware because of the private access off of the parking lot. The inside of the house is great, equipped with movies, a mini fridge with soft drinks and waters for the guests, and all sorts of nooks and crannies to relax in. Breakfasts were quite hearty to the point where we didn't even feel hungry for lunch. Sarah makes delicious muffins to start the breakfasts off and will often leave some out later in the afternoon in case you need a snack. This vacation was our time away from parenthood and Sarah was so sweet, continually offering us snacks, wine, and suggestions of things to do and places to eat. Tony is great, full of personality and ready to chat with you about your stay or in our case, hobbies! There's an on site hot tub for your relaxing pleasure. The house is a short distance away from hiking trails, waterfalls, and a wonderful winery. Just a wonderful place for couples and families. Thank you Sarah and Tony for making our time together so special. Hope to come back again next year!

Room Tip: Delaware has a private entrance of off parking lot which is very nice for a hiker or skier with gear...

Thanks so much for your kind words! It was a pleasure to have you both here - we so enjoyed your company, and we're so glad that you were able to have a fun and relaxing vacation. The new winery is one of our absolute favorite spots in town, and there are so many great opportunities for hiking - plenty more to explore when you come back next time! We look forward to seeing you again. - Sarah

Tony and Sarah are the bestest hosts ever.

I love staying at B&B, the intimate and sweet feeling of living under roofs of locals is homey and relaxing. Boyfriend and I stayed at Catskill Lodge this past weekend and we had an wonderful experience. The exterior of the house is like something out of a fairy tale, cute and intimate. As soon as we pulled in with our car, Tony walked over from their house, greeted and ushered us in (along with pumpkin muffins). The interior of the lodge is decorated with great taste and perfection, impressionist art works lines the walls of our floor, loved them. We stayed in Woodstock, one of the smaller rooms on the second floor with a shared bathroom, the rooms are cozy and very clean, complete with a TV screen and a DVD player. There are two outdoor patios on both the second and first floor, affording a beautiful view of the mountains and great for chilling. Tony also showed us their extensive movie collection in the living room and the many classic board games for entertainment. A mini frig fully stocked with soft drinks and bottled water (which is so so essential for hiking), along with popcorn and all kinds of cereals for anytime snacks. There is also a guest frig that we could store our food for later and plenty of plates that we could use. They really thought of everything! At breakfast, you will learn that Sarah is an amazing cook. The breakfast was SO TASTY. Sausages and scrambled eggs, yogurt with fresh fruits, and two main dishes besides cereal and drinks. I stuffed myself silly with cinnamon french toast (the texture is so fluffy) and fresh rasberry/strawberries, and blueberry muffins with lemon curd and boyfriend finished gigantic piece of egg frittata. Probably the best breakfast dessert dishes I've had anywhere. We were also asked about our dietary restrictions when we checked in. (Again, +1 for attention to details.)

Location wise, the Lodge is within walking distance to a few little cafe and an Italian restaurant and just a few miles away from Windham downtown and more yummies. We didn't feel the need to go further than 1 mile from the Lodge to grab food (Nunzio's has amazing pizzas). It is also just a 10-15 minute drive from Windham High Peak/Blackhead Trail Head, which have both moderate and difficult trail, medium and long. We probably spent half of our weekend relaxing inside the lodge, on the porch, on the bench outside, watching movies in our room and just enjoying ourselves. It was delightful and charming all in itself.

Cellular connection is limited in the Catskill region in general but the WiFi is fast and convenient in the Lodge. Also, this is one of the most affordable B&B in the area. Tony and Sarah are gracious hosts who are nice and attentive we felt right at home, they also have the cutest baby ever. We will definitely stay here again!

In choosing a place to take my first solo trip, I could not have picked a better place than the Catskill Lodge. Sarah greeted me in the kitchen and immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. She gave me a tour of the house and instantly made me feel at home. My room was clean, comfortable, and very private. I spent most of my time on the front porch reading and just relaxing. Breakfast both days was delicious and very filling and having the use of the guest refrigerator was very helpful. On my second night, I was thrilled to find a small plate of chocolates sitting outside of my door. I love chocolate! Before leaving, Sarah made sure that I had printed directions and Tony talked me through the drive. They both helped to make me feel confident that I could find my way home. I can't wait to venture off to the lodge again and the kindness of Sarah and Tony made my first solo trip a success. Thank you, Sarah and Tony.

We stayed here for a second time and really enjoyed it again! The house and rooms are cute and comfortable, but Sarah and Tony are the kind of hosts that make this place memorable. Sarah prepares a little breakfast menu and slips it under the bedroom door each evening so you know what delicious food to look forward to. Each room has a comfortable bed (we've stayed in 2 different ones) and even though a few rooms have to share bathrooms, we never had an issue. The house and rooms are warm and the windows provide a lot of light. There are also a couple porches to sit on when you have breakfast or if you want to relax in the evening with a glass of wine. Everything is clean and nice, and we're looking forward to staying here again!

Room Tip: The Windham room on the ground floor is nice and private.

Had a great weekend at Catskills Lodge this past March. The house was charming and the inn keepers could not only cook a mean breakfast, but were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Over fresh fruit, pancakes, and eggs, the inn keepers recommended a light hiking trail nearby which was just what we were looking for. Good food, exercise, friendly people, and comfortable accommodations! I hope to come back and stay again next year.

I was very happy that I found this wonderful BB. I was warmly welcomed by the new innkeeper with coffee and cookies. She prepared a huge, healthy breakfast, that was too good. I usually eat a small healthy breakfast. My room was very comfortable and the common sitting area was great for reading/catching up emails and would be great for meeting others or just hanging out with friends/family you are with. The owner also visited while I was there and was helpful with giving me ideas for restaurants/pubs. If you like to ski or hike the beautiful Catskill Mountains, this is a wonderful place to come back to after any activities in this beautiful area.
