My wife and I made the trip down to Woodstock (from Rochester, NY) this past weekend and had a great time in and around the town (and area). The b&b's proprietor, Panxi (sp?), is very gracious and provides a delicious breakfast (with generous portions).
This is not the fanciest of places but that was just fine. The house is located roughly a half-mile from all of the actions and attractions in town. It (the house) is situated on a busy stretch of road but there is parking both on the grounds and right out in front of the house. There is also a great restaurant directly across the street from the house, called Ruth's Country Kitchen.

I stayed here for the first time in May and have been back to stay a few more times. Its Located walking distance from town! and has a cute running stream in the back. The rooms are great and the women who run the house it wonderfully sweet, kind and helpful (and makes a wonderful breakfast!!!) Will be coming back soon!

Five nights at Morning Glory B&B, hosted by the very personable Pansy. She was friendly and knowledgeable about local hikes (hiking is one of her hobbies, along with learning classical guitar). Even her cat was quite sociable.
.
We took a comfortable room with en suite bathroom. I could occasionally hear cars going by, but with traffic being light, had no trouble sleeping.

Breakfast was vegetarian (which I prefer), with fruit and a different dish each morning: scrambled eggs or oatmeal or my fave: crepes (thin pancakes) just like my mother used to make.

There's a restaurant across the street. Other restaurants, stores, galleries are a 5-15 minute walk from the B&B. There's a garden and a stream behind the house.

Room Tip: 1- Very light sleepers may want a room facing away from the street (which might not have a en-suite...

Located near a nice running stream, Nice room, close to town. Friendly owner, she served a very tasty breakfast...... Pleasant Stay! thankyou.

Room Tip: The Far rooms are closer to the steam, if you like to listen to the water over the rocks.

We booked this place because the recommended places were unavailable for our weekend trip to Woodstock. The trip advisor reviews we read prior to our trip were good. I don't understand what happened since those reviews but our experience was disappointing, mostly related to the poor maintenance conditions of the house.
THE BAD:
1. No cozy: There was a persistent musky smell throughout the house. The first room next to the entrance was full of old broken furniture and plywood. The entrance hasn't been cleaned in a while. Plants needed water. The living room was dark and the furniture was not clean. Not welcoming at all. The cat is a frequent visitor.
2.Breakfast: Very low quality breakfast and limited variety of choices. The silverware and plates were chipped and old. The table were the tea and coffee are located was full of dust.
3. Yard: The trees and grass are growing wild, so you cannot walk through he path from were you park to the front of the house, unless you break some tree branches.
4. Bedroom: the trash was not taken out. The room was not cleaned or the bed made during the days we were there. the bathroom window was broken and we were exposed to the people walking on the street while showering or using the bathroom.
The GOOD:
1. The bed was comfortable
2. The lady in charge of the house was very nice.

This house has great potential if only some love and attention is put into making it homier and cozy. The grass and gardens are neglected. This place looks more like a dorm than a b&b. This place is truly substandard as compared to many other B&B in the country that charge less or similar prices. Later I found out there were better places for your money in the area. If you want a clean, well taken care of place, go somewhere else. For a good healthy breakfast, there is a great place down the road which is a market and a fresh food dining. Unfortunately, this B&B is not worth the amount they charge. They should either lower the price or take better care of this place.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights this past weekend and couldn't ask for more in a B&B. This quaint, quiet, and artsy, farmhouse style B&B is situated right along the main road that twists and turns through the heart of Woodstock. About three blocks from the center of town, my boyfriend and I were able to walk to all the shops and restaurants. Moreover, we came out for Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble and found ourselves a mere 3 miles from the site, making for a quick and easy drive late at night. The knowledgeable, caring and creative staff ensured that we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, a good night's rest, and had plenty of suggestions as to how to spend a scorching day in and around Woodstock. (We took a 10 minute drive to Phoenicia, NY where we went tubing down the Esopus Creek---as excellent way to escape the summer's heat.)

As far as the accommodations go, we stayed in a lovely room with a private bathroom, AC, and plenty of closet space. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I'm just excited to head back in the winter time when the fireplace is lit, the back stream freezes over, and snow shoeing abounds!!!

Room Tip: Request a room with a private bathroom, the White Room was excellent!
