No doubt, this Inn was meant for the outdoor person that is looking for a comfortable please to stay (the grandfather's room reminded me of my grandparents' modest home) while taking in the wonder of the nature nearby. However, considering the reasonable cost and the excellent, way above average food, this place was a GREAT FIND. The staff goes above and beyond. It is fairly close to the slopes and has all that you could ask for on a ski trip. I recommend the veggie pizza, shrimp and grits and French toast highly!

Very nice setting with beautiful views! Check-in was a breeze! We stayed in the Diamond Ridge Room which was very cute! However, there were cobwebs on the sealing and the room needed dusted. If you come in the winter, be sure to buy extra logs for your room this room was VERY drafty and we stayed cold all night long, even with the heaters on. The evening food was delicious and so was breakfast even though our food was cold, and they didn't have milk with breakfast!

Definitely take the time to drive up to the top of the mountain and see the shops. It's like a tiny little village stuck up on top of the mountain!

Would definitely visit here again, but next time we will request a double room that has a kitchenette in it.

Room Tip: Rooms with double beds are defintely bigger and nicer, and have a full size couch with a kitchenette...

Thank you for your feedback! We have reviewed your observations with housekeeping and appreciate your time to comment. The area is truly wonderful during all seasons and we are glad you enjoyed our quirky town. We do try to offer complimentary upgrades to the larger rooms for a return guests so on your next visit please mention if one is available. We typically greet each breakfast guest with coffee and juice but do have milk if requested. We look forward to your return!

Archer's has become an annual getaway for me and my significant other. When you arrive, you're met by wonderful staff, great views, and phenomenal food at the restaurant. The rooms are a little out-of-date, but that’s part of the mountain charm.

If you’re visiting Banner Elk and are looking for a quaint, cozy, home-like inn, please stay here. Breakfast is included each morning, staff that is caring and wanting you to have the best experience, a fantastic chef that will provide an amazing dinner at restaurant, and even a chocolate lab named “Kip” to make it feel just like home.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are very close to one another, so be aware of noise.

We had a very pleasant stay! Our room (the Beech room) was big, quiet, comfortable, cozy. Had a fireplace and "kitchenette" area, with fridge and coffee maker. Our balcony overlooked grandfather mountain and the morning/evening views were incredible. About a five minute drive to Beech Mountain Ski Resort.

Archer's Inn felt very cozy and like home. The staff was extremely accommodating. We asked if we could extend our check out time and it was no problem since no one else had booked that room.

We would have paid for our amazing breakfast that was served each morning, however it was complimentary and served with a smile! It seems the staff members are "jacks of all trades", working the front desk, serving tables, and working the bar. We never felt underserved or ignored. It was nice getting to know the staff.

The Jackalopes View bar was neat too. Again, a great view and awesome appetizers. We didn't order dinner because it wasn't being served while we were there (I think she said they only serve dinner Thursday through Saturday?) Anyways, we were well fed! The bar was pretty slow (it was a Wednesday) but we played pool and enjoyed the views.

We are young professionals, and a very "outdoorsy" couple in our 20s-30s from South Florida. We feel this place was perfect for us. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, and will definitely stay at Archers Inn again!

I stayed at the Archer's Mountain Inn this past weekend for a short ski trip. The views from the hotel are beautiful and the hotel is great. All staff were very accommodating, the rooms were quiet and cozy, and there was a nice fireplace in our room with fire logs ready to go. The breakfast (included in our room rate) the next morning was excellent. Definitely this hotel is worth your consideration if you are traveling to Banner Elk, NC.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend for our anniversary, and we did not want to leave. The views were beautiful and the service was excellent. The restaurant is quiet and cozy, perfect for a nice romantic dinner and the food was spectacular the chef is a genius! The staff was very accomadating and friendly they make sure you are happy and take the time to conversate with all of their guests. We had alot of fun with Robbie in the vault he is an excellent bartender! If you are looking for a great rustic place to relax and have fun this is the place for you. You don't even have to leave, everything you need is all in one place. Great job to Candy and your staff you guys are awesome! We will be back very soon :-)

We decided to stay here for our anniversary weekend trip, due to other reviews and availability. Our night started when we came back to the floor wet from the refridgerator leaking. We could deal with that, but we then proceeded to burn the firelog given to us when we arrived. The flute was open and all we thought was well til the room started filling with smoke. The smell was horrible! The smoke wasnt drafting out the chimney it was pouring back into the room. We were up all night off and on trying to air out our room, their was NO working fire alarm,NO fire extinguisher,or No carbon monoxide detector. Our night was ruined. After managing to get the fire finally out,we stayed up airing the room out and were sick on our stomachs all night.Needless to say we'll never stay here again. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. We were told it was because of high winds, yeah right, your on the mountain, high winds happen all the time. I think this place could have potential, but MUCH updating needs to happen.Start with your fireplaces and bring your furnishings up to date.Way overdue!

We regret that these guests had a difficult experience, we did provide a full refund of their stay. We have also taken measures to give more specific directions as to how to light the firelog and hope they would try us again at another time.
