We stopped here after a trek to Grandfather Mountain, just for an afternoon snack. We reviewed the menu and decided to come back for dinner.
While the Jalapeño Queso we had at our first stop was just okay, dinner was great! I had the Smoked Sausage plate and hubby had the étouffée (crawfish). With my dinner I went truly southern and enjoyed the best fried okra I have ever ever had In a place besides my own kitchen! The collard greens were yummy too. The sausage, bbq'd in the Texas style I prefer was delicious! We topped off the meal with the daily cobbler choice, blackberry, served with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Scrumptious!
Kudos to the chefs for the evening, Jack and Joe, as well as our sweet but somewhat timid waitress, Tracie. Good luck to you sweet thing as you continue to pursue your life goals!
Do try this place, as you won't be disappointed with the extensive menu, reasonably priced and well prepared. Wish I lived closer!
