My husband and myself stayed at the Beaufort Inn for a long weekend of sun and fun. Well we did not see the sun the whole time we were there but we still had a great time. If you read the reviews you will know what to expect. A charming Inn on the waterway and not a bed-n-breakfast. We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time but our room was already available so they let us go up early. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the view spectacular. We were please with the breakfast already knowing it was limited. The breakfast pie was wonderful and they gave us seconds when we asked. We did not get to use the bikes due to the bad weather or the outside hot tub. We will definitely come back in the fall and stay here again.

Convenient to historical Beaufort, NC - you can easily walk to the waterfront or old town section. Right on the water facing several fishing docks, so a water facing room, complete with rockers provides great entertainment as the boats load and unload. Also saw several porpoises going up river.

Room was comfortable with upscaled furnishings, fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Nice touch was a bag of popcorn which we micro popped one evening.

Breakfast was good, but limited to two main selections - a quiche type pie or French toast - with muffin, crossiant, or English muffin, but we shared a table with a family with a teen and they served him a seemingly unlimited choice and supply so you should not go hungry. Afternoons they serve fresh baked cookies, cheese and crackers.

Easy drive to beaches.

Not a true B&B, but better than your average hotel.

Room Tip: Waterfront, second or third floor for best views.

My husband and I took a last minute trip to Beaufort, not knowing exactly where we would stay. We pulled up to the Beaufort Inn and I knew this was where I wanted to stay. It is on a waterway and has a excellent view of the sunset. They offer breakfast for guests and they have a hot tub, boat slips are also available. I loved the balcony, I could have sat there all weekend. It is in walking distance yo Front St. where you'll find shops and restaurants. It also had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in for a hotel. We will definitely be going back!

Room Tip: Third floor rooms are triple sheeted. Waterfront rooms have the best view.

Very conveniently situated to all the restaurants and our room was clean and the bed reasonably comfortable but the breakfast let it down badly; a very limited choice of poor quality food was on offer, everything was heated in a microwave in a very small room off the dining area, there were no fresh meats, cheese eggs or bacon on offer, breakfast was really done on the CHEAP.

The reviews posted list this as a Bed and Breakfast, but let me be clear: unless you are a senior citizen and used to eating an English muffin or store bought Danish for breakfast, this is not a B&B. I'm from New England where a B&B/innkeeper cooks a fresh breakfast for you, not a college kid toasting up a piece of complementary toast. There were three things to choose from on the breakfast "menu": breakfast pie, cereal and toast or croissant. You were served coffee and juice per usual.

As for the Inn rooms, it has it's quintessential charm with each room balcony fitted with rocking chairs that looked out over the docks and waterway. The Inn still uses real keys which felt sort of "old world". The rooms were clean and average, but not like northern Inns I've been to. Our room had little fridge.

The service was good and the staff were pleasant. I've travelled quite a bit and have stayed a both budget bad luxury Inns and hotels and I'm surprised by the five star reviews given from other reviewers. I consider this an average establishment.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 310, which faced the waterway.

This charming place has the hospitality of a fine bed and breakfast AND the privacy and modern conveniences of a national chain hotel. The staff, room, food and view all contributed to our wonderful mini- vacation.
Check-in was delightful with rooms ready early - when was the last time that happened to you. Check out was equally pleasant. During one evening we chatted with the "night manager" (my term, not his) and he was wonderful. We would return just to chat with him.
Breakfast each day was a nice surpass. SO MUCH BETTER than those "breakfast bars at the chains! They also gave us great tips about bars and restaurants. Thanks again!

Room Tip: I don't think there are bad rooms since the rooms without a view are less expensive. Our rooms w...

Sitting in the rocking chair on our balcony overlooking the Beaufort inlet and drawbridge. Savoring the afternoon treats of BIG chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies. Enjoying our morning breakfast of Katie's Breakfast Pie, coffee, juice, yoghurt. Perfect location for everything Beaufort with a welcoming, family feel. Ask for a room facing the inlet. Katie (owner) gave us excellent recommendations for the Historic Homes tour. If you are there for the tour (late June each year), don't forget to enjoy a delicious lunch ($5.00 per person) at the Episcopal Church on Ann Street.
