“Costumer service sucks!”
Reviewed 18 March 2014 via mobile

We went to the mountain and it was a good trip but they told us all slopes would open up. Basically 2 slopes was open and when we asked Ashley (obviously not a good costumer service agent) if we could get a refund or a new ticket for the next day she was just plain rude and told us no. If she would be an employee anywhere else she would be fired..

Thank Thomas L

“Snow Good Time”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

This was my first ski experience and it was good overall! The locker rooms and outside could stand for a few renovations, for instance, the ski rental equipment shop being on the activity level or same level as the locker rooms, lift tickets, and ski area. We visited Sugar later and found it to be more appealing, at least in organization & appearance. The staff was nice and helpful, but we were given bad information that resulted in a wasted lift tickets ($35 ea) because we purchased the tickets prior to Ski School and once those of us who decided not to try the slopes couldn't return the tickets. We should have been advised not to purchase until we completed the lessons. The Ski School instructors were good in both professionalism and introducing technique for newbies. Overall, the view is breathtaking and the slopes were beautiful.

“Little things count”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

Just finsished a ski weekend in the Banner Elk area. We skiied both Sugar and Beech. I have to say Sugar puts Beech to shame on almost all phases. The organization of Sugar is a Gazillion times better than Beech. It is one strait shot from lift ticket/ski rental purchase to boot fiiting to ski setup and then to the locker room. Beech you buy ticket upstairs, go downstairs to get rentals and then you get to carry all that stuff back upstairs to the locker area. Lockers at Sugar $0.50 - Beech $5.00 with $10 Key Deposit. If you forget to take the key back on the day you rent and take it back the next day, you do not get your $10 back. (The little things count.) Sugar grooms their runs in the morning and afternoon, Beech just the morning. (The little things count.) I like Sugars runs better, but thats just a personal preference. The one thing that Beech has on Sugar is the bar at the top of the Mountain. Awsome views.

“Snowboarding fun”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

Good prices for pretty much everything. You can go overpay at sugar or you can get a good price at beech and pretty much have an overall better experience. BTW a 12 oz can of beer at sugar is 6.50 only 2.00 at beech. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Beech Mountain ski resort was a great place to visit. We went to ski school to learn the fundamentals and we had a great time. The staff was patient and professional with us.
