We knew there was a good BBQ joint in Benson but didn't know the name or where it was. Finally got the information from the local flea market.
It was worth the trouble. The BBQ was excellant. Eastern NC style of course. Hush puppies were among the best I have had recently. All the sweet tea you can drink.
It was about 12:30 on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, many who appeared to have come from Church. Luckily we were able to sit down at a large table with 3 other customers. It's a very friendly little place.
The servers were all very friendly and helpful. And the prices were excellant. My idea of an excellant NC BBQ joint.
Only 2 negative things.
1 - They ran out of bananna pudding so I didn't get any.
2 - The owner is retiring so she is closing the restaurant in September.
For eastern NC BBQ you can't go wrong.
