This is an incredible little market with a great selection of hard to find gourmet items. The imported meats and cheeses are incredible and not completely ridiculous on price. My only complaint over a few visits is the service is a little slow and not very friendly. I do so hope they make a great go in Black Mountain though.

“What a great little place! Loved it...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

So many other places in Black Mountain close at 2:00 pm on a Sunday. The Artisan Café however was open and we're so glad we discovered it. Great sandwiches. Cozy atmosphere. This place is located south of town and I-40, right on Hwy 9, in a small upscale development of shops and homes. I had the fresh mozzarella, tomato and pesto sandwich on ciabatta and it was great! We will definitely be back when we're in this area.

“Breakfast-Yuck”

Lunch is great just don't get the breakfast sandwiches. Egg was cooked in the microwave and I think the sausage was too because it had chunks in it that were to hard to eat. Yuck

Thank you for your comments we take them all seriously and work hard daily to improve customer satisfaction. The Coffee/Wine Bar side of our small market is not a full service restaurant but we do have pastries and breakfast items available. Because the city will not allow us to have a kitchen grill, griddle or deep fryers, we admittedly make breakfast sandwiches that do get microwaved as an option for breakfast. We do serve well over 15,000 sandwiches yearly (most go through our conveyor ovens) and very rarely one may not meet standards. We strive daily to make sure if any meal is not up to customer expectations to make it right....right away. Thanks again, please allow us to serve you again. The Artisan

“Lunch with friend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

This is a half way meeting place for our group. We certainly enjoyed the homemade sandwiches and delicious soups. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. We enjoyed a glass wine and coffee with the outstanding desserts. I also enjoy shopping the wide selection of wine and meats in their deli. We will most certainly be back!

“Great little market!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

The artisan is half shop and half cafe. The market has a beautiful selection of local products and very reasonable prices on meat. The cafe side serves great sandwiches, soups, etc. along with coffee, smoothies and wine and beer. They have gluten free bread which is a plus for me. The wine tastings are a fun Thursday event. Glad to have this nice little market close to home!
