The Dripolator Coffeehouse
Certificate of Excellence
Description: Proudly supporting your coffee habit since 1999. We buy some of the finest green coffee beans available and roast them off-site on an American-made Diedrich roaster. As roasters, we deeply respect farmers' dedication to excellence and sustainability, and we strive to honor their hard work by carefully developing each harvest's optimal flavors. As baristas, we are invested in brewing coffee that showcases nature's genius and in sharing it meticulously and enthusiastically with you. As community members, we strive to forge rich connections and to provide a third place that fosters creative interaction and supports the vitality of this beautiful place. We're located in the quaint downtown historic district of Black Mountain and offer delectable homemade pastries (GF options), fresh fruit smoothies, and coffee frappes in addition to all of the traditional espresso-based beverages. Free Wi-Fi, parking and outdoor seating.

“Feel like a local in just a few minutes”
Reviewed 29 December 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed pastry, tea, and coffee on a rainy December Saturday. This is a place for regulars, but the staff filled in the blanks for us as we ordered. The food selection -- merely pastry -- was limited and we saw no other breakfast options in town. We were comfortable lingering as the crowd began to take shape and shops started to open.

The Dripolator is one of the places that makes Black Mountain so special. It's a truly local coffee shop run by a conscientious, attentive staff and offering a comfortable living room environment in which to start the day or enjoy a mid-afternoon recharge.

“Excellent latte. Great coffee shop”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

They roast their own coffee and it results in a rich but smooth dark roast perfect with whole milk in their lattes. My husband's chai tea latte was very good. The muffins and sweet breads were moist, fresh and delicious. Bagels and oatmeal also available. People were friendly and fast and facility was clean, funky, warm environment you want in a coffeehouse. Thoroughly enjoyed.

“A Very Nice Stop”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

We were heading onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and (it being a Sunday) were having issues finding a place open for breakfast. Dripolator to the rescue! The coffee and pastries were excellent as were the number of choices of each. The atmosphere was very nice and the directions we received were way better than the ones we had. I only wish that the adjacent museum and art gallery had been open. Give it a try!
