“Well Worth the Wait!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

This place has the best bisquits and iced cinnamon buns around! The line can be long however, is well worth the wait. The coffee is pretty good also!

“Great Food -- Allow Yourself PLENTY Of Time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

This is definitely not fast food. It is full slow! So ... got a little time for a great breakfast/lunch? Read on:

My companion and I stopped in on a Sunday morning. You stand on line, and while waiting your turn to place an order, gaze longingly at the yummy foods in the glass deli case. The menu is on a large chalkboard, and descriptions of the food and combos are easy to understand. We ordered, then easily found a seat, despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy. Coffee is self-serve; my companion ordered a delicious local chai that was quickly delivered to the table; drinks in hand, we proceeded to wait ... and wait ...

That said, the food is worth the wait. I'm a big fan of biscuits and gravy, and the giant biscuit was loaded with a wonderful sausage gravy that was close to perfection -- not too salty, not at all gummy despite being a flour-based gravy, just the right amount of sausage and seasoning. My companion ordered a dish that featured smoked trout spread, and she proclaimed it quite delicious. We split an order of Fried Green Tomatoes, which, despite the fact that they were no longer quite green, were lightly breaded and nicely done. I must say, we found that we'd ordered too much food! The "entrees" would have been more than enough.

I'll definitely return to this place. But only when I absolutely have no place that I have to be at a prescribed time. The wait is excusable because it's obvious that the time was spent in lovingly preparing each order. But expect a long wait.

“Great Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

Great breakfast in the mountains. They offer many, large, biscuits along with a number of gluten free options (biscuits, waffles, and more). It can get busy during Sunday brunch so make sure to come early. Can't go wrong here!

“Cute country dining with gods food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

This cute country diner has country charm and BIG southern biscuits. We stumbled across this place while driving through. They have a serve yourself atmosphere but don't let that fool you. The food was great--giant southern biscuits and hearty breakfasts. Try the grits-- they were they best I've ever had. Their lunch menu looked yummy too with all sorts of unique biscuit sandwiches. And if your gluten free, this place had a great variety of gluten free biscuits and pastries.

“Excellent Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

This was by far the best breakfast in Black Mountain. The portions were huge and delicious. It is locally owned and operated with daily specials. It had a serve yourself coffee, tea and juice bar. The biscuits were not your typical breakfast sandwiches. They all had a little flair with it. I will definitely be back! I cant wait!
