Unfamiliar with the area and with our intended accommodation fully booked for the night, we found ourselves booked into the Alpine Village Inn. Initially we only planned on spending one night but due to the innkeepers’ hospitality and comfortable rooms, we decided to stay an extra day and explore the area.

The innkeepers, Kathy and Charlie, were very friendly and accommodating giving us lots of advice about the area. Charlie is an avid golfer (if golf is your thing). Plus they have two of the friendliest dogs you’ll ever meet. The atmosphere was very relaxed and there was a lovely mix of families, couples and bikers during our stay.

The location is great – about 2 blocks from downtown Main St. Our room was clean and had 2 big comfy beds. We also had rocking chairs outside our room. The inn is well maintained and very clean. The only downside is the narrow and small bathroom. However, it was a great place to stay and a lovely surprise for us on our road trip.

Room Tip: Pet friendly rooms available.

Blowing Rock was a suprise. A quiet little mountain town with plenty of places to eat, shop and explore. I suggest taking the hike up grandfather mountain. The Alpine Village was a great place to stay. Walking distance to Blowing Rock shops and a quick drive to the nature trails. The folks at Alpine Village were very warm and welcoming and offered great info on the area. Great bargin, clean rooms and smiling people. We will be back!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights this week and found it to be a delight. The price was very reasonable and the room was clean and comfortable. It didn't matter that the bathroom was small because it was clean and updated. The beds were very comfortable. The flowers outside were so enjoyable, and we spent a lot of time relaxing outside of our room. A lot of TLC goes into this location. The owners Katherine and Charles were friendly, helpful, and always available. Charles even gave us tips on fun things to do as we were checking out, so we had a great trip home. Our dog loved staying here, too. The location was perfect with a short walk to downtown and its wonderful little shops and restaurants (and more flowers!). We can't wait to go back.

Blowing Rock has become one of our favorite summer vacation spots. Thankfully, we know just where to stay when we go - the Alpine Village Inn! The owners are welcoming and they remembered us from the year before when we visited. We were able to purchase our tickets to Tweetsie Railroad at the Inn and Charles gave us some helpful directions up to Grandfather Mountain. He also gave us some great suggestions for where to play golf along with some restaurants we hadn't tried yet in the area. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else and appreciate the service, the friendliness and the feeling of being right at home while we're on vacation. Thanks again Alpine Village Inn! See you next summer or hopefully sooner.

Room Tip: Check with Charles and Kathy for restaurant recommendations if you're new to the area.

We stayed at the Apline Village Inn by chance, and after booking read the raving reviews. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. Charles greeted us warmly with exceptional knowledge of Blowing Rock and the surrounding areas. He suggested many sights and attractions to see, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms were clean and cute, and the only negative was the bathrooms were quite small. Otherwise, we loved our stay at the Alpine Village Inn and were absolutely enchanted by the Blue Ridge parkway and the Appalachian Mountains and their beauty.

This was my second year staying at the Alpine Village Inn. Charles and his wife are excellent hosts -- both years I arrived quite late in the evening (this year was past 1am!) but Charles waited up for me and had my room key ready.

It's great for motorcycles since the parking is directly in front of you room. I simply released my hard luggage and was in my room in a flash. The room I stayed in was just big enough for a queen bed and dresser, but for my travel needs this was more than enough. It's very clean, has a small but powerful A/C unit, and it's nicely decorated.

There are nice restaurants nearby within a few minutes' walk, and the area is safe and beautiful.

I usually camp on my bike trips, but this will definitely be one of my overnights on all future trips.

You won't find any place close to the value you get, plus the innkeepers are among the nicest people you will ever meet.

Enjoyed our unplanned stay here while we were travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway. This place is extremely clean with comfortable beds and a very friendly host and hostess. We walked into town for dinner and shopping. The beautiful flowers, hummingbird feeders and gazebo as well as the rocking chairs show that Katherine and Charles believe in taking care of the details to make your stay pleasant. They even recommended a wonderful place for breakfast. We will definately be back when we are in the area again!
