The Village Inns Of Blowing Rock, was a great place to stay, the rooms are nicely decorated and the staff helpful and pleasant. It was located in a very nice area. The mornings were great with the fresh coffee, and danishes, french toast sticks, bagels, cereal, fruit, juice and milk, something for the whole family..Will be staying there again...Some rooms even have hot tubs ,all have private decks, and they except pets...Bonnie Miller

The room itself was clean and comfortable and the price was right. The furnishings were a nice blend of antiques and semi-antiques, the bed was comfortable, the owners were friendly and helpful, nice location in Blowing Rock BUT----the bathroom was so small that my knees hit the wall when I sat on the toilet and there was no smoke detector. Apparently there had been one wired into the ceiling but it was missing. Also the thru the wall heat pump for heat and AC was hard to regulate and very noisy.c

My husband and I have stayed several times at the Alpine Village Inn. We always enjoy our stay there and have never been bothered by loud noises or barking dogs. It has always been very quiet and the owners go out of their way to always make our stay a pleasant one. We have always found it to be clean and very comfortable. We are already looking forward to returning soon.

We stayed at the Alpine "Inn" (really a motor court) over the weekend. It's right in town, a plus for us. The surroundings (yard, etc.) are very pleasant, however, this is a pet friently place (which I didn't realize) and most guests had dogs with them. There was always someone out in the yard with a dog, usually barking. Our room was a king---the room was much too small for a king bed. The linens were tired--sheets had a hole in them!! Over all, the rooms need a face lift--very country poo! Unfortunately, the place was very loud at night, with people hanging out in front of everyone's rooms. I wish I could give a more positive review, but we won't be returning!

This was our third stay over 10 years at the Alpine Village Inn. Once again we were very happy with it and will return the next time we are in Blowing Rock. Other reviews have noted how clean and homey the rooms are and I would agree. The bathroom was so clean the paint on the white beadboard was not even scuffed. The owners are very accomodating and genuinely nice people.

The one negative is the size of the room. Set your expectations for a VERY small room. However, we slept all five of us, with our three year old on the floor between the beds, and were perfectly happy because we only slept there. We kept busy with hikes, the park, etc... during the day and were all exhausted enough to settle down together in the evening. There are rockers outside your room so you could hang out there if you wanted to put the kids down earlier.

This place was recommended to me and I'm glad it was. It only had about 12 rooms, but it was very clean and each room is decorated differently. There are little decorations that you don't normally see in hotels because people would tend to steal them. But here, you felt like you were staying in someone's house because of the personal touches. The owners of the hotel were very friendly. There was plenty of parking. Just a short walk up the hill brings you into town by the little shops. I would definitely go back.

Stayed at the Alpine Village Inn a few weeks ago while in town for a wedding. Waited 'til the last minute on a busy weekend, and this was one of the few places still available.

Overall, it was a perfectly nice little place... especially for the money (we paid $89 for a queen room). It's clean and close to everything (Blowing Rock is a very small town... and pretty much all of the hotels/inns are within walking distance of the little square area.).

The room was about the size of a guest bedroom in a normal house... kind of smallish, but no big deal. There was a bed, two arm chairs, a desk, a dresser and a tv stand. There's also a microwave and mini-fridge in the room if you were interested in using anything like that.

The only problem we had (and it's more about me being spoiled at home than a true gripe) is that the bathroom was TINY! I mean TINY! There was no place to spread out all my bathroom junk... which was kind of a pain. But really not a big deal.

The decor was all antique and country charming, which I totally don't dig... but whatever. The room DID smell a little bit musty/funky... but we bought a candle and burned it for a while... no problem.

Overall, I would say the Alpine Inn is a great place is you're looking for a simple, inexpensive place to sleep in Blowing Rock.
