The food was not good at all. We had pulled pork bbq and I make it better in my crockpot at home. My husband had fish and chips and it too was tasteless. The french fries were very greasy and bland, just frozen french fries out of the bag. The food was just blah and way overpriced. Nothing special here and I would not go back.

When arriving, we were told we would have a 20 minute wait which ended up being one and a half hours. The food was fine enough, but that's probably because every time we told him we'd like to order something he "advised us not to". For instance, he said the chili was nothing but grease and the burgers are dry. I wound up with a fish sandwich, which was actually quite good. My husband wanted to go back the following night for a fish platter but we couldn't find them in the phone book. Our inn manager called them for us to see how long they would be open and was told 8pm. When we got there about 6:30, the place was locked up tight. What the hell? I am sure by this time next year, it will be under yet a different name!!

We were seated outside immediately by either the owner or manager. We ordered burgers medium but they were well done. The fries were just okay. The kitchen was slow. The "owner/manager" keep interupting us and it was almost intrusive. We would not go back.

Poorly staffed, horrible food, and do not sit on patio unless you enjoy observing grease poor from the kitchen hood on the roof.

We stopped here for dinner on our way through town, and now we wish we had kept on driving. Or at least read some of the reviews before choosing this one. We stopped here though because it looks like a really nice place from the outside, with the quaint patio and live guitar music. It was semi-busy on an early evening Sunday, but we were seated right away. From then on, it was downhill. We waited a full 15 minutes, sitting at our patio table with menus in front of us, and no one approached us to even take a drink order. There were plenty of young college-student servers walking around, some of them seeming to be in a daze, and the guitar player kept reminding everyone to tip their server "because they're working hard for you!". We finally flagged down a server and asked if he knew who had our table, and about 5 minutes later, a young lady appeared and said apparently no one had our table, but she'll take it now. Our food, to be polite, was mediocre. But to be honest, it was bad. The tiny cup of soup looked and tasted like it came directly from a can of low-quality grocery store soup. The cheeseburger was bland, the salmon cake sandwich tasted like a can of pressed salmon on a bun, and the sweet potato fries actually made me sick. They tasted like powdered sugar had been sprinkled on top of them. There was a strong smell of funnel-cake in the air coming from the kitchen, and I believe it was those sugar-coated fries. Sweet potoates have a naturally sweet flavor, but this was overpowering. As a previous poster mentioned, there are plenty of good restaurants in the small town of Blowing Rock, and this is definitely not one of them. Don't waste your time or money here.
