A travel highlight on many levels - nature, food, fitness, health and relaxation. Stayed in the Cedar cabin. Hikes, treatments, service, scenery, owners and fellow guests were inspiring. Best spa cuisine I've had anywhere. This experience converted my husband into a confirmed spa lover - We will return.

I just returned from a lovely stay at the Westglow! I am a repeat guest and love it! There are 6 rooms in the mansion and each one offers a different decor and view. All of the rooms are great, it's hard to narrow it down to one! If you desire more privacy, just across the street, is a cottage with individual accomodations on 3 levels. This is in a beautiful wooded area with a nice area to walk around. It is a 1 minute drive across the street to the mansion for breakfast and to the spa at the Life Enrichment Center. Wherever you choose to stay, you will be very happy with the very clean and comfortable rooms! The grounds are impeccable and you always see the team working on the grounds keeping everything 5 star status! The spa is a must----an indoor heated pool with 2 hot spas, sauna, steam room, and a fabulous veranda overlooking the mountains-also sun decks where you can have lunch, sun or just relax! Brian gives the most amazing massages!!!!! Book early to get Brian!! I also had reflexology which was informative and relaxing as well! Don't miss out on the morning hikes! If you do, you can still take a great hike around the property at any time or hit the tennis courts! The staff at the WG is more than willing to ensure you enjoy your stay! All you have to do is ask!!!! Nikki, Natalie, Jimmy and Jennifer make every guest feel special! The food is amazing----Rowlands is a MUST! Don't forget to work off your indulgements at the workout center --Regina teaches cycle, stretch/tone, yoga and acquacise----she is highly experienced and very professional. Westglow is an award winning destination spa and deservedly so!

(default to 5 on the rooms since I did not stay) My partner gave me a pre-birthday present of a day at the spa. I could not say a single bad thing about the experience if I tried. The hot stone massage and gentleman's facial were both perfect. I don't relax well, so to find a place with a wonderful view that I could just sit and read in peace was heavenly. I thank my partner, but I really thank the Westglow staff. The level of service is top notch. I will share one observation. A nice young man who was part of the grounds/facility service staff walked by the whirlpool after someone had gotten out (an event he did not witness), saw a puddle of water, stopped where he was going, fetched a towel and mopped up the water around the edge and then went about his duties. Small stuff, but put together it made everything very nice.

The rooms and mansion are amazing. From the moment you walk in, you are transported to another era, where luxury and good-living reign. The staff is graciously available at any time and there is never a "no". The spa is beautiful with views over the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains while I was doing my laps in the indoor pool. Mike A. Gave me one of the best massages I have ever had.
The restaurant and food was world-class; and healthy! The only negative was cottage accommodations across the street. Our friends stayed there while we were in the mansion. DEFINITELY request a room at the mansion. It is far superior.
I will return every year!

We spent a nice long week at WestGlow and cant say enough about the experience and the staff. From the friendly welcome, the comfortable room and out of this world spa and resturant = this is a journey and a place not to be missed. The evening views of the "glow over the mountains is a very special treat. We have visited a variety of spa's over the years and tried a wide variety of treatmentsat WestGlow and each and every member of the staff is top notch. One thing I did not see noted in other reviews are the daily hikes lead by the former owner and another staff member through the local trails - anywhere from 2 to 5 miles and are not to be missed. Rowlands resturant with the use of organic fruits and vegatables and top notch service is an added bonus. Our only wish is that we would have booked earlier to get a larger room. It is a historical home and the rooms are smaller but we were in the back which had the advantage of less downstairs noise.

Room Tip: Book early

My best friend and I stayed here over President's Day weekend and had a completely wonderful experience!! I believe the Westglow truly lived up to all of its reviews. The mansion was beautiful, the service was impeccible and the beds were TO DIE FOR!!!

We also ate a Rowlands Restaurant where I had the best steak of my life. Conversely, we had eaten at Crippen's the evening before and were not that impressed.

The spa was beautiful, relaxing and an overall wonderful experience, too. Blowing Rock is a quant little town and this is in a prime location to experience all that it has to offer.

We just spent the weekend at Westglo while visiting our daughter who is a freshman at ASU. It is very convenient to the school yet off by itself enough to feel like getting away. Since college folks don't get up until at least noon you can still enjoy the spa treatments and the very delicious breakfast at the "house" and spend the afternoon with your kid... The accommodations were very elegant, quiet and comfortable. HIGH THREAD COUNT all over the place. The spa rivals the Umstead or Charleston Place for services, amenities and overall originality. BEAUTIFUL view from the relaxation room. The entire place is immaculate with great mountain views on all sides. We were there in the dead of winter but I bet summer and fall are breathtaking. Nice unobtrusive yet attentive and "mature" staff, no teenagers working here so they were well informed people. This is a great weekend away.
